Great food, lovely staff and good service
The only downer was the lack of on site parking - but not a huge problem really

A stylish gastropub in Shrewsbury, The Loopy Shrew boasts a wine bar, coffee bar, and restaurant. Comfy leather couches and candlelit shelves make for cosy snug areas, while the contemporary style and international menu of the restaurant attract people from miles around.

The Loopy Shrew menu spans the entire day, starting with gourmet brunch options like toasted Wenlock Edge ham and Cheddar croissant, and signature full English breakfasts. Later in the day, there are small plates with exciting combinations of international flavours, such as pan-seared Brixham scallops with roast chorizo, Appleyards black pudding, pea purée and local asparagus. Succulent steaks and lobster thermidor also feature on the grill menu, with pub classics, seasonal salads, and a dedicated vegetarian menu also served.

Desserts at The Loopy Shrew Shrewsbury include British classics given inventive twists, such as vanilla crème brûlée with thyme crumble, poached rhubarb and rhubarb sorbet, while the bar serves up a selection of world beers, premium spirits and wines.

Also serving up hugely popular roasts on a Sunday, The Loopy Shrew is a 9-minute walk from Shrewsbury Rail Station.

The food was delicious, amazing menu and beautifully presented food. This however was let down by slow service and unfortunately a large table of over exuberant guests on a table close by. It spoilt our evening as we could barely hear each other and left early due to this. I certainly wouldn't choose here for a quiet romantic meal!!
We did complain to be told we should have said something and we could have moved to a quieter area! The large group arrived whilst we were eating!
Also found the dining area extremely cramped.

I love this place, the main dining area is at the back and is a great space (especially on the weekends when the bar is full) the staff are excellent and also work hard to ensure you enjoy your evening. Food wise this is one of the best in town and having just moved from Edinburgh I would say its as good as any high end Pub Grub you will get, though to be honest it is better than pub grub. Great for dining with friends or a special occasion either way you will have a great night. Oh the the cute chap with the beard is an amazing host he always remembers the wine we like to order and thats been the last 3 visits! Make sure you book this place can get busy at the weekends :)

A very pleasant dining experience. Comfortable seating. Our young waitress was a delight and efficient. The menu was varied and different from the norm. A thoroughly enjoyable time.
