A stylish gastropub in Shrewsbury, The Loopy Shrew boasts a wine bar, coffee bar, and restaurant. Comfy leather couches and candlelit shelves make for cosy snug areas, while the contemporary style and international menu of the restaurant attract people from miles around.

The Loopy Shrew menu spans the entire day, starting with gourmet brunch options like toasted Wenlock Edge ham and Cheddar croissant, and signature full English breakfasts. Later in the day, there are small plates with exciting combinations of international flavours, such as pan-seared Brixham scallops with roast chorizo, Appleyards black pudding, pea purée and local asparagus. Succulent steaks and lobster thermidor also feature on the grill menu, with pub classics, seasonal salads, and a dedicated vegetarian menu also served.

Desserts at The Loopy Shrew Shrewsbury include British classics given inventive twists, such as vanilla crème brûlée with thyme crumble, poached rhubarb and rhubarb sorbet, while the bar serves up a selection of world beers, premium spirits and wines.

Also serving up hugely popular roasts on a Sunday, The Loopy Shrew is a 9-minute walk from Shrewsbury Rail Station.

Lovely atmosphere cozy and warm nice ambience. However food not up to standard we wanted Tomohawk steak but were told having already made our mind up it was not available!! They should of told us when handing us menu. Service not v quick we were going to theatre so we asked for quick service unfortunately we were rushing at the end.

The food could not be faulted - really tasty and generous portions. We were a bit disappointed with the service however. Staff were friendly enough (when we managed to get their attention). Quite long delays between courses and we had to ask for menus as they were not offered. Staff seemed too wrapped up with the larger parties than to see to our table of 2!

It was ok, not worth the hype it got, there are much nicer places to eat in Shrewsbury, I found the staff a little rude when I complained about why I left most of my main dish, they need training....

An excellent venue with a warm ambience. There is live acoustic/singer on. Friday night. Service was quick, friendly and professional. The price of a 250ml glass of Rioja was rather steep! The Station bitter was excellent and well priced. We ordered a steak and pie and a beef lasagne which were politely advised would be cooked from fresh and take 25 mins. How refreshing to be told that rather than just waiting and waiting for the food to arrive.
We decided to have some of the excellent bread and oils as a starter. Our friends had the duck dish and a tuna nicoise salad. All of the meals were excellent.
How my friends managed a pudding I don't know! By the way the sweet potato chips are a must.
The Loopy Shrew is a very popular restaurant and bar with good reason.

Booking a table on line was easy and straight forward. The bar staff and waiting on staff were very efficient and friendly. The meal was great, we had the serloin steaks which were cooked to our liking but the peppercorn sauce was salty. The fact that there was a live singer and guitarist in the bar area to listen to afterwards was an added bonus. We will try here again.

The website to book a table was very fast, the food very good, the 'Whiskey Duck' was so tender and tasty and thee service friendly. The cocktail barman made up a special non-alcoholic cocktail for one of our party on request and they were really cheerful when serving us.

Really first class, that includes the restaurant, the food, the staff and the general feeling that while we were being served you really felt that your enjoyment and well-being were a priority with the staff. Will definitely be passing this on to friends and family. Thank you.
