Much more than a simple local pub, The Lion and Unicorn has a theatre upstairs for on-hand entertainment, plush, colourful furnishings, and a wide ranging menu of British and international gourmet treats. Two outdoor seating areas offer a tranquil setting for the warmer months.

Real gourmet flair is brought to the Lion and Unicorn menu, with exciting recipes made with fresh premium produce. There are exciting flavour combinations in dishes like lamb leg steak with butterbeans, feta cheese, red onions, pine nuts and mint yoghurt, as well as roasted plaice with brown shrimp, samphire and cucumber. There are light bar snacks available, as well as a tempting range of desserts.

An extensive drinks menu at The Lion and Unicorn Kentish Town includes aromatic white wines, rich reds and superb champagnes. There is a great choice of beers and ales, and in-restaurant entertainment like quiz nights makes for a fantastic ambience.

A fantastically inviting pub and restaurant, The Lion and Unicorn London is just 2 minutes’ walk from Kentish Town Tube Station.

My party, 7 of us, thoroughly enjoyed our pre-Xmas lunch. Pies and pheasant went down v well. People particularly liked the dauphinois spuds., likewise deserts. Despite the back room dining area being packed out, the atmosphere near the door was pretty quiet and relaxed. Service, as always in my experience @ L & U, was excellent.

Restaurant and staff were great. The food was disappointing... too salty and peppery - there wasn't enough flavour in the food.

Excellent dining experience and very friendly team to make our evening special

The welcome and service were excellent. There was a great variety of food for all tastes ( even for my strict dietary requirement ). Our party of 4 tried the burger, sausages, pie of the day and the chicken breast and all were very good - with our clean plates to show for it. The Goise beer went down well with the guys and my Malbec was very good. My first dinner there, been many times for lunch, -and I just wish it was my local !

We like the atmosphere and we weren't in a hurry so the relaxed style of the staff was fine. The disappointment was the food - the gazpacho wasn't a soup at all but more like a dip in consistency. The roast beef was very tough (and more like a steak than Sunday roast beef), the Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and the roast potatoes had a bullet like quality. And the food was cold! Maybe we just got unlucky because we were probably the last of the lunchtime diners. Certainly last time we ate there, the food was ok. I would probably still recommend but perhaps go earlier!
    Choice of wines was excellent.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service, wine very good, portions main course not very big but very well cooked.

Excellent steak and triple cooked chips. Malbec good. Cheeseboard not so great, cheese was cold and hard and could have done with chutney or something. Would definitely return.
