A charming restaurant just 200 metres from the beautiful Suffolk coast, The Lighthouse in Aldeburgh features in both the Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide. Making the most of local produce, British classics are joined by Mediterranean flavours on the menu.

Favourites on The Lighthouse Restaurant menu include traditional beer-battered fish and chips and hearty steaks with hand-cut chips and a choice of sauce. Elsewhere on the menu, discover grilled lemon sole with fennel and pomegranate salsa, corn-fed chicken breast with sun-dried tomato and wild mushroom risotto, and gnocchi with gorgonzola and Mediterranean vegetables.

Finish with indulgent desserts like boozy banana pancake with toffee crunch ice cream, or treacle tart with lemon syrup. With large windows, wooden floors and rich yellow and terracotta walls, The Lighthouse is warm, relaxed and welcoming.

A rustic seaside restaurant, The Lighthouse in Suffolk blends fresh flavours with fine wines, local ales and an inviting atmosphere.

Lovely meal. I enjoyed the cod fillet and my husband enjoyed the flounder - both beautifully cooked. I loved the affo lowry. We have been to the Lighthouse before on many occasions and I love the mix of familiar dishes and new ones on the menu.

We had a great time - the manager had been pre-warned that we were on our first night out since having a baby, and made a huge fuss over us, which we greatly appreciated. Will definitely come again when we are next in Aldeburgh.

Really enjoyed the lunch we had. Impressed by the scope of the dishes on offer as well as a good wine list, not just in terms of geographical and price range, but the ability to order single (different size) glasses of wine as well as half bottles, important for us at lunchtime. Only aspect of table we didn't like was the scratchy paper covering - glasses, cutlery, plates all impeccable. Service good, allowed right space between courses and friendly without being intrusive.

Very good restaurant food was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. They even tried to find bus times for us. The food came quickly and served with a smile. It's a very busy place and they were turning lots of people away who had not booked and this was on a Monday night in October so best to get your booking in quickly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

After reading good reviews we chose to eat at The Lighthouse.
It had a friendly cosy atmosphere. However we found the food very disappointing. One of us had the crispy duck salad, unfortunately the duck was not at all crispy, but tasted good. Two of us had the sea bass, which was very average, the sea bass skin was not crispy as you would expect, it did not appear to be pan fried, also the accompanying chicory in orange sauce, had a very overpowering flavour and was quite unpleasant. We did inform the waitress, who did apologise but offered nothing else. We chose not to have a dessert after this, and unfortunately will not be returning.

We always enjoy lunch at The Lighthouse. Attentive staff are always friendly. Overall the meal was good but one lamb shank was over-cooked.
