A charming restaurant just 200 metres from the beautiful Suffolk coast, The Lighthouse in Aldeburgh features in both the Michelin Guide and the Good Food Guide. Making the most of local produce, British classics are joined by Mediterranean flavours on the menu.

Favourites on The Lighthouse Restaurant menu include traditional beer-battered fish and chips and hearty steaks with hand-cut chips and a choice of sauce. Elsewhere on the menu, discover grilled lemon sole with fennel and pomegranate salsa, corn-fed chicken breast with sun-dried tomato and wild mushroom risotto, and gnocchi with gorgonzola and Mediterranean vegetables.

Finish with indulgent desserts like boozy banana pancake with toffee crunch ice cream, or treacle tart with lemon syrup. With large windows, wooden floors and rich yellow and terracotta walls, The Lighthouse is warm, relaxed and welcoming.

A rustic seaside restaurant, The Lighthouse in Suffolk blends fresh flavours with fine wines, local ales and an inviting atmosphere.

Absolutely excellent. All the team are professional and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with many guests known by name. The food is superb and locally sourced where possible. Sam offers a 3-glasses of wine deal, and provides recommendations for the best wine to accompany each course, which makes the meal experience even better. He is very knowledgeable about provenance of all that they serve. The head chef creates some amazing depths of flavours. The quality of the food and the service is outstanding, and is way above what you might expect if you merely glanced through the restaurant window - try it!

Well you certainly did not let us down! My husband and I have visited The Lighthouse previously on several occasions and this time we had the pleasure of bringing along two of our dearest friends. We had been extolling your virtues as a venue for an end-of-holiday meal and keeping our fingers crossed that it would be a good choice for our pals, too!
We need not have given it an ounce of thought. The service was warm, friendly and definitely not pushy. The food was amazing; I have never tasted better-cooked or fresher cod. My gluten-free companion was so impressed that she didn't have to suffer a separate menu. The champagne cocktails were delicious and the wine was reasonably priced and excellent, too. Bream was tased for the first time and declared as a delightful fish.
In fact, our friends were so impressed that they paid for the entire meal, with the comment, "Debbo, this has been one of the most memorable dining experiences ever, thank you very much for bringing us here." Cannot ask for more than that - well done, The Lighthouse and many thanks from us all.
