When we arrived a blonde American girl who was laying tables asked why we were there whilst carrying on with her job. When we told her we had a booking she said she didn't think we had whilst carrying on with what she was doing. Then a young man came over at her request and checked on his computer to check our booking. He was very polite and welcoming. Unlike his colleague. Who made us feel like we were intruding- the restaurant was empty apart from us and another couple.

We are regulars at the Lass but this was our first visit since the make-over
Food as always was lovely. Good quality and great service. I don't think the choice on the menu is as good as it used to be, I would have expected a bigger choice of lighter dishes for the summer. Great wine list which has improved recently.
However my biggest disappointment was the changes that have been made to the interior. It has always been a beautiful, cosy, traditional pub but the lovely dark beams have been painted white and the furniture replaced with cheap, modern versions that do not fit with the history of the pub. This alone will put me off returning in a hurry. I may not be alone with only one table being used in the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Such a shame.

Staff as usual friendly & helpful, welcomed dog, provided not a doggy bag but a doggy box (I couldn't eat all my lunch- actually too many chips and not enough peas which should have been less dry. Provided three candles in his profiteroles for my husband whose birthday we were celebrating - a delightful touch, much appreciated.

Place as expected looked friendly well looked after, clean and pretty.

We used to come here many years ago but sadly it has changed and is now missing the great atmosphere and menu. It was ok and the food was nice. Missed the mark with kids menu though - mine only ate the chips and left the rest. Unlikely to come back again.

We arrived early and was prepared to wait but you kindly accommodated us at a table with no trouble.
We had the roast pork for two which was delicious; enough for three. My only comment would be that the food could have been a bit hotter.

We had a very pleasant meal. The dining area was not too busy for a Saturday evening but had a good atmosphere and was perfect for making conversation. The staff were attentive and polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our food (the special of the day) which was seasonal and well cooked. We also thought it was good value for money.
