Welcoming atmosphere. Smart decor. Spacious. Clean. Italian Tom/bean soup, really hot and tasty, loved the rustic bread too. Chicken pie was just delicious, like homemade.

A fantastic old building, The King’s Head - Billericay has a unique black and white timbered appearance, dating back to 1750. Serving well-loved pub cuisine, which can be enjoyed from the pretty beer garden in summer or by the log-fire in winter, it has a rustic oak and brick design. Adorning the walls and surfaces are other pastoral trinkets, such as cosy candles and art.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The King’s Head menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The King’s Head ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Kingfisher is a country haven, but just 6 minutes’ drive from Billericay.

We dined yesterday for a girlie lunch and catch up. Food was lovely. The waiter who served us was very up beat and friendly couldn't do enough for us. My friend had not been to the kings head before and was very impressed how nice it was.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch as always. Food great, service great, would always recommend. Also come for lunch on a week day and food and service still great. Always the first place we think of booking.

Quite disappointed with the whole experience. Waitress didn't seem to know what the current offers were ( 20% off total bill) and only believed us when we managed to retrieve my confirmation email on my husband's phone. Sharing platter was acceptable but my husband's meal (lamb duo) came up without any gravy boat and all the vegetables were cold. My own meal arrived a few minutes after the other three apparently because the kitchen had plated up regular chips instead of the sweet potato fries which I had specifically ordered. It came to light later in the evening that there is currently no Kitchen Manager and unfortunately this is quite apparent. Fortunately we were with close friends so at least we enjoyed the company.

Food good. Waitress was very abrupt and unhelpful though and not like the lovely foreign lady who has served us many times before and is always smiling and so helpful. This waitress was surly and unhelpful which was a vast contrast to previous experiences

We came there for our wedding anniversary. We both had the roast beef dinner. The beef was very tough and the baked parsnips very hard and we couldn't cut them. The roast potatoes some of them was cooked to much and we couldn't cut thoughs ever. The sweet was ok and the service was good.

The ambience of the kings Head is lovely , the actual roast was ok , our dinners were quite small compared to some being served,
But overall ok.We had Christmas last year at the Kings Head and it was lovely, so hopefully will be the same this year.

It was our first meal at your restaurant, I was a little disappointed. I had fish with prawn &I lobster risotto, I found the risotto mushy & too oily for me you couldn't recognise it was rice. Also very noisy and busy for a 6.30pm meal.
