Set in the charming village of Knowle and perched in an eye-catching location on the edge of the Grand Union Canal, The King's Arms serves up a locally-sourced, seasonal British menu alongside immaculately conditioned ales and drinks. Boasting a rich history dating back to 1816, it's rumoured that a cavalier’s ghost haunts the vibrant interior, which partners a pretty al fresco dining area.

Seasonal dishes on The King’s Arms menu range from light options like mushroom, feta and onion tart, with pea shoot and truffle salad, to rich duck confit with roasted sweet potato, British hispi cabbage & honey-roasted pineapple. A special children’s selection features tasty, nutritious options, while on Sundays an enviable choice of succulent roast meats line up alongside duck fat-roast potatoes.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The King's Arms is just 5 minutes’ drive from Dorridge Train Station, and 12 minutes to central Solihull.

Excellent service and food. The staff were very friendly and attended to our table regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Always cleared tables well and made us feel welcome. We didn't feel rushed. Also very cute and well decorated restaurant. Certainly would recommend the restaurant and the food to others.

What a wonderful place. Staff where brilliant. My wife and I had the roast beef lunch. All I can say was we were amazed. The food was fantastic. We had a sweet afterwards. I had the apple and blackberry crumble. Superb! My wife had the baked New York cheesecake. Again superb. We had no idea to what the place would be like as I heard from a good friend about it and booked on a spur of a moment. Will definitely go again and not just for Sunday lunch. Am planning on going in the evening next. All in all a wonderful experience. Have recommended to a few friends.

Pleasant pub-style dining room on the canal side. Service was efficient. Reasonably varied menu. Food took quite a long time to arrive although it didn't particularly matter in our case. When it did come it was very tasty and well presented. The only weak spot in the evening was that the staff were not aware of the Bookatable offer we had used which probably wasn't their fault

We were Seven for lunch which included Two visitors from Hong Kong.
We had excellent service and with a good varied menu we all found a dish which was enjoyed, well cooked and nicely presented.
Our visitors so enjoyed the location with the view of the canal although it was raining.

Staff very helpful and accommodating. The first table they sat us at was between two large parties and was a bit raucous and we asked to move and a quitter table was prepared. The starters were good. When my main meal arrived it was the Haddock fish cakes and I had ordered the Halibut. Someone came and apologised and said it would be about 10 minutes, they then offered to take my partners's meal away and bring him a fresh one when mine was ready. We declined this offer as it would just be a waste of the meal he already had. We were then offered complimentary drinks which we accepted.

The incident did not spoil the evening as mistakes do happen and it was dealt with efficiently.

Our group of four diners had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Kings Arms. The food, drinks and service were excellent. Despite the fact that it was a busy Friday evening, everything was don in a timely manner.

Very slow service due to the desert chef off and poor food due(we were told) to the main chef being off.
My friend has been there several times and has never had a complaint, so it was a realy off day.
The waitress Maisey was great but the poor girl had to spend all her time apologising. We asked to speak to the manager, but he said he was too busy (picking up menus) to get back to us!!!! Basically he left poor Maisey hanging.
He sent over a bottle of Preseco (very nice) and 25%off the bill ( very nice )
So not the best night out.
