Great welcoming service from all colleagues at The Kennels. Very relaxed, but not overly so. Food was lovely and I particularly liked that a lot was sourced locally or even from the Estate. Good job.

The food was delicious. The arrival at the front door was met by a noisy child having to be entertained by parents that continued for at least an hour and could be heard in the restaurant sadly. Bread arrived but they forgot my husband who had been parking the car so we had to ask for bread for him. We ordered a bottle of white wine for the starters and a glass of red for my main course - the main course arrived and the red wine didn't. I waited and waited whilst my dinner guests started theirs but in the end we had to ask for it which only then prompted its arrival. Kevin was as usual an excellent adviser. The amuse bouche was a very nice touch but we didn't hear what it actually was. My lamb saddle was lovely and the jerusalem artichokes a lovely addition. The dog at the adjoining table was definitely better behaved than the children! Why is it that parents think we are all amused by their children being disruptive and noisy?

From the friendly reception, perfect drinks service, demanding menu choices (all to good to differntiate!). To the table and then food to "die for" (though we don't want that as we want to come back again!! This is private dining in an intimately run restaurant. Staff our aoustanding, a real "family feel" which pervaeds throughout ALL that GOODWOOD do. The biggest chgange over the recent years is that the helpings appear a little larger (just right!)
    In one word - PERFECTION.

The team at The Kennels went above and beyond the call of duty to make the occasion of my wife's fiftieth birthday the special evening that I hoped it would be. Starting with a gracious welcome and the warm hospitality, The Kennels boasts a grand yet cordial and intimate atmosphere, tastefully decorated rooms and great service; the meal itself was perfectly delightful.

The menu was concise yet varied, and we all found something of interest to look forward to. Smoked venison, parsnip soup, partridge, saddle of lamb and exquisite desserts that were complex, rich, texturally crafted and flavoursome rather than over-sweet. The home-grown produce was first class and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Portions were sensible so that despite a full set of courses, one was not left feeling uncomfortably overstuffed at the meal's end.

The wine list was extensive and well crafted.

Chef prepared my wife with a beautiful birthday dish for dessert, presented complete with the birthday salutation scripted in delicious chocolate, and a tasteful single candle. Mercifully, we were not encouraged to sing.

In a word: Marvellous and to cap it all, the bill was shockingly reasonable.

A perfect and memorable evening at a wonderful venue where we were looked after without fault.

We are GRRC members and this was our first visit to The Kennels and The Goodwood Hotel. We had an excellent meal together with excellent service. The staff could not have been more helpful. The Kennels is a lovely old building which is beautifully maintained. The only small niggle was although the lounge area was lovely and warm the dining room was a little cold. Will definitely be making a return visit.

The beautiful setting and handsome Kennels meant the expectations were very high. in these circumstances, it's often found to be disappointing. However, with The Kennels these high expectations were duly surpassed. The service is impeccable throughout, from greeting, to the bar staff through to the waiter (who helped use chose some fabulous wines). And the food was excellent, fitting for location, style and service. The venison starter was a triumph, followed by succulent lamb. It's rare I write reviews, but this was perfection.
