As usual the staff members were courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. However, I believe the food has lost a bit of the "spark" and excitement, and ultimately the satisfaction it used to promise.

We took my elderly father for lunch. He used to race at Goodwood motor circuit and enjoyed seeing the images from the passed on the walls as we arrived. The service was excellent and the meal was equally as good. All three of us chose different dishes and they were all beautifully presented as well as tasting superb. We have already booked to come again!

We had a lovely meal at the Kennels last night. Great attention to detail and lovely surroundings. The food and wine was fabulous. Our waiter and waitress were very attentive to our needs, we never had to ask for anything. Loved it - many thanks for a super experience.

I approached this booking with a little trepidation for a couple of reasons. Firstly, a negative experience about a year back when the food was of poor quality, the service average and the environment (cold and draughty) unsatisfactory. Judging by other online reviews this was not an isolated experience. My most recent booking was to celebrate a friend's wedding and so it was particularly important that everything went well. I was delighted to find that the high standards I had come to expect have been reinstated. The food was faultless, service was impeccable, the environment was just right and we could find no fault. I can only say please don't let your standards slip again. People will pay well for a top class experience but they will be unhesitatingly critical of high prices and poor quality and rightly so. Based on our most recent experience I would thoroughly recommend the Kennels once more.

Log fires on arrival, a warm welcome and the general ambience make this a special place that always lifts the spirits and delights. Mix of formal architectural spaces with historical, anecdotal and themed paintings, photographs and models all set the scene for an evening to remember. The bar staff are friendly with good service before selecting local produce from a varied and creative menu. The seared tuna with rhubarb and the Levin Down panacotta were perfect starters followed by amazing venison with beetroot and juniper and curried cod with cauliflower bahji and pannise were both exceptional. The final flourish came with the blackberry and clementine baked Alaska that completed a perfect feast of delights. Back by the fire and comfy chairs for coffee to let the evening linger before we finally left this special place with wonderful staff and another memorable evening buried in the Goodwood Estate. We've been before and we'll always come back - the Kennels never disappoints.

Had a lovely time. Beautiful setting (even in the poring rain !) and for my daughters friends 21st Bithday lunch perfect. My only negative point was was the knife I had wasn't blunt which made the venison had to look tough, which it wasn't, but a steak knife would have been better and my starter, the panda cotta, read on the menu better than it was. It didn't quite work for me. Not enough flavour.
