The service and the dessert were amazing. However and since you ask the main course of the fish pie was basic. There was too much under seasoned potato
and too little fish and the prawns were hard and over cooked. The couple with me passed no comment on their mains which was not a good sign. The vegetable portion was uninteresting and minute.
I felt that the menu was uninspiring comparing it with the Lord Poulitts Arms and the Three Bells both of which a visit often

We had our first lunch in Jack in the Green. The drive from Torquay was easy and fast, plenty of parking by the pub.
A very warm welcome, nice pub, welcoming restaurant. Both service and the quality of food excellent. We are in hotel business and would certainly recommend Jack in the Green to everybody. Best Sunday lunch for a long time ! We shall be back.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. We had booked a table on the recommendation of my mother who had been here with friends a while ago and weren't disappointed. Friendly, polite and attentive (but not overly so) staff, excellent food (taste, presentation and quantity) and a lovely 'Happy Birthday' plate of delicious sweet treats to finish the meal for our eldest who was celebrating his 21st birthday. Well worth the drive down from Andover to take him out for a birthday meal.
