Good food as ever though service wasn't as good as the last time we attended. Some issues with drinks orders and waiting for condiments etc. however they did appear to be on the busy side. Would still recommend.

very busy, long wait for main course, steak overcooked and cold, and sent back.staff apologetic and took it back.the swordfish steak very small. didn't bother with sweet due to length of time to get mains.was offered a complimentary round of drinks

Very disappointing and not up to your usual service, menu, or food. Pity, as it was a birthday lunch kindly paid by my sister.

We booked for 2 on line for a Tuesday lunch time. I got a confirmation code but no email and there was no booking when we arrived. However it didn't matter because it was January and there was plenty of space.

The waitress was very pleasant and quickly gave us the menus and brought us drinks. The menus were marked with some items that were on a good value Fixed Price menu - perhaps these should have been pointed out but judging by what our fellow diners were ordering others more familiar with the Inn knew about the menu.

We both had the soup which was excellent, my wife had fish cakes and I had chicken breast. Both very tasty. We both had big portions of ice cream with a delicious chocolate cookie. All this, including a large bottle of sparkling water which we shared, cost £35.

All in all an excellent meal with good service. The only slight niggle was that the main course took a while to arrive because it was being freshly cooked. No problem for us but it might been for someone in more of a hurry.
