The food was okay and the service friendly but there was a very noisy bar next door to the dining area, with uncomfortably loud music blaring throughout. The first time I have ever been asked what drinks we,d like BEFORE we sat down....!

Following the success of his Edinburgh restaurant of the same name, Michelin-starred Martin Wishart brings The Honours to Glasgow. Housed in a former Greek Orthodox Church in the centre of Glasgow, Wishart has created a menu that blends traditional and modern French cuisine.

Start with the rich chicken liver parfait with apple and date chutney, or sample hand-rolled tagliatelle with truffle purée and sautéed sea scallops. From the grill, succulent steaks from select breeds are served, as is the signature Chateaubriand with duck fat chips, fried onion rings and sauce béarnaise. Other classic French dishes making up the menu include rabbit a la moutarde and ox cheek with a bordelaise red wine sauce.

Vibrant, modern and sophisticated, the adjacent MALBAR boasts a superb ambience. Fine champagnes are available, as well as single malt whiskies and exciting cocktails.

Housed in the Malmaison Hotel, The Honours in Glasgow offers a fine and authentic French dining experience in the heart of the city. Both Charing Cross (Glasgow) Rail Station and Glasgow Film Theatre are 5 minutes’ walk away.

Nice surroundings . Staff - very courteous and welcoming - our server was particularly pleasant and non intrusive. Food was good and well presented Set menu was reasonable price as was house wine [very good] A la Carte prices generally reasonable also. Half portion pasta option which I chose and perfect amount after a substantial starter. Restaurant was very quiet so lack of atmosphere. Overall good experience and would definitely go back

Lovely food and knowledgable staff. The chateaubriand steak was perfect. Pumpkin risotto so and so. Sweets delicious.

We visited the Honours for the second time with 2 other couples on Saturday. The food was superb (we shared chateubriand and others had the crab starter which was a real hit) as was the service and we would particularly like to recommend Stefan (the Restaurant Manager) who comes highly recommended from other reputable establishments. We will be back. Thank you for a lovely evening where nothing was too much trouble.
