With panoramic views over the Firth of Forth which inspired Robert Louis Stevenson, The Hawes Inn near Edinburgh serves an accomplished menu of trusted British dishes. In an eye-catching white exterior framed with black windows and doors, The Hawes Inn is furnished with modern wood and rustic stone floors. You can dine by the cosy log-fire or with beautiful sea-views from the al fresco beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Hawes Inn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Hawes Inn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Hawes Inn is a 13-minute walk from Dalmeny Train Station, or an 18-minute drive into central Edinburgh.

A bit dissapointing - the beef in the Roast was a "bit tough" also the knife to cut it with would hardly cut through butter - not as enjoyable an experience as have had previous.

The service and the dinner as well as the reception that we got on Saturday, was exceptional, but after visiting the Hawes, the standard has never changed as we`ve
    received this standard before

We decided to use our voucher to return to dine at the Hawes Inn because our previous experience had been a total disaster ! This time the waitress was very good but again the standard of food was disappointing. Our starters were very small. The chicken pie was only half filled and the pastry was so dry it had no taste and no texture. We had to chase up the staff to receive our main courses ! Unfortunately we were all so disappointed again, It's far too expensive for very very basic food. !

Excellent service by Megan. Never felt rushed between courses even though it was busy. Overall a very pleasant restaurant experience.

My partner and I visited the Hawes on 13th August. My partner really enjoyed the Morrocan salad. I ordered the seafood risotto which I am sorry to say was very disappointing, the rice was overlooked and overall I couldn't taste the seafood as it was soaked/swamped in the gluey rice. The service however was really good! The waitress that attended was very good. You need to consider the diners proximity to the bar and drunken clientel that we experienced.
