With panoramic views over the Firth of Forth which inspired Robert Louis Stevenson, The Hawes Inn near Edinburgh serves an accomplished menu of trusted British dishes. In an eye-catching white exterior framed with black windows and doors, The Hawes Inn is furnished with modern wood and rustic stone floors. You can dine by the cosy log-fire or with beautiful sea-views from the al fresco beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Hawes Inn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Hawes Inn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Hawes Inn South Queensferry is a 13-minute walk from Dalmeny Train Station, or an 18-minute drive into central Edinburgh.

We ordered mainly from the set price 2 course menu. The food arrived fairly promptly and was as described on the menu. Fairly average pub style food. We paid the bill but later on realised that all courses had been charged individually and not at the set price and hence dearer.

My family and I very much enjoyed our experience at Hawes Inn. The location of the Inn, parking availability and friendly, humorous, attentive waiting staff. The food was good value for money ( we all had a variety of Sunday roasts.) The surroundings and history of the building were sympathetically furnished, with lovely views of the bridges and Firth of Forth. I wanted it to be special because I hadn't seen my parents for 2 years and they very much enjoyed themselves.

It was great. Six old guys who meet once a month.
We used the Hawes inn once before and decided to go again.

Excellent meal and service, though disappointed that no Yorkshire puds available at 1.30pm without a half hour wait.

Really enjoyed our visit to The Hawes Inn. A friend told us about this place and we have ate there a few times, on this occasion it was Sunday so we all had the roast. Hearty place of food, meat, yorkies, roast potatoes and veg. good food and reasonably priced. Service was good/ quick, nicely decorated environment to eat.
