Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at Down Hall, the sandwiches and cakes were all hand made and there were plenty of them. The scones were exceptional, light and fluffy. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the surroundings were relaxing and very comfortable. We will be back.

My mother and I went for afternoon tea at down hall and it was lovely, absolutely perfect! The food was amazing and I was so full up when I left. They even came out with a candle and sung happy birthday to my mother as we happened to mention on arrival it was her birthday! Thank you very much :)

We thought the food was fantastic, such lovely flavours and cooked to perfection. The staff were very courteous and attentive and service was prompt. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and won't hesitate to return.

The dining room was very cold and whilst the Waitress tried to fix the heating, she couldn't so she turned off the air con which helped.
The tables for two were too close together in the restaurant, but we had requested a quiet table so were seated on the end table of 3 which was fine.
Very nice selection of warm breads to start.
    Very nice Parmesan Risotto.
    Lovely Chocolate Mousse.
A pleasant evening but too expensive for what we experienced.

we had a Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago and came back yesterday with some friends. The food and service was excellent, not rushed and good portions. The hotel and its surroundings are relaxing and beautiful especially on a nice sunny day.
