Excellent Caesar salad....tho' gf simply means they leave out the croutons...not that they make gluten free ones! Very convenient location for theatre and awareness of theatre time by staff.

The Green Room in London serves ethically sourced British food in a contemporary and theatrical space. In collaboration with local social enterprise Coin Street Community Builders, the National Theatre presents an innovative restaurant, bar and garden, where all profits support the National Theatre and local communities.

Mixing American diner dishes with British classics, The Green Room menu is packed with mouth-watering meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Meat-lovers can try slow-roasted pork ribs marinated in barbecue sauce, or the signature burger made with prime beef, Monterey Jack cheese, and an onion marmalade. Equally enticing are the hearty grilled calamari with pesto and slow-cooked winter vegetables, and the spicy vegan sloppy Joe with black beans, jalapenos and chipotle.

Inside The Green Room from the National Theatre, props and scenery from the theatre’s shows create a unique dining space. Outside, a sustainable garden creates an urban oasis a stone’s throw from the Thames.

A short stroll from The London Eye, The Green Room South Bank is a 6-minute walk from Waterloo Train Station.

A Monday night. 8.30. Quiet. Very spacious room. Short menu . Helpful and chatty staff made us welcome. Unhurried and a generally laid back atmosphere. Food well prepared. Nothing to spook the horses. Useful for the NT, BFI opposite. Good value.

More than delightful attention from a "budding" artist. And efficient too with a charmed prehistory, a combo involving Hackney Cream, Kiev Downs and/ or Cornish Chickens or some such. We were wittily confused. Lovely beer but comestibles a tad dry, too long under the lamp perhaps but we enjoyed ourselves. Diolch yn fawr. Tim D

Well located next to National Theatre. Spacious, buzzy restaurant, friendly service and great food - sharing starters like chillie squid with dip & mains like grilled hake with samphire..

Good to have a choice for vegetarians - staple very nice vegan burger and also something seasonal. Save room for a dessert.

Very pleasant child friendly place. Service was good but not rushed. All the food was good.

I've eaten here before and it wasn't bad but this time around I was disappointed. The calamari were too greasy, the cesar salad was average but the sweet potato fries were very nice. The acoustics are pretty bad so you are struggling to hear conversation. I will not return I am afraid.

Friendly and very efficient service. Calamari and Grilled Hake were excellent. Grilled veg + hummus a bit bland. Wine at the lower end OK but not more. Jolly atmosphere and very handy for National Theatre

We had an enjoyable evening - good food and drink. Attentive but not over attentive service. the only down-side is the noise but only a little one - it is popular!
