    Food and wine were good.
Pity you didn't light the fire!

It can be recommended highly for repeat visits. The menu is imaginative and absolutely reliable to be high in its standard of delivery. The service is consistently first class. On this occasion I can single out the sea trout as a main course, which was of equal excellence for the three of us as was the ham hock starter before that. The rice pudding and lemon posset are well worth trying. The range and quality of the wine list is excellent. We drank a bottle of Italian Weissburgunder, which was delicious.

Service was good and prompt, food was fine, especially the quality of the meat. We all really enjoyed Sunday lunch and will certainly book again.

Lovely food, attentive staff, but portions on the small side for the price.

The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We had Sunday roast which was lovely. The restaurant is a pleasant room and there was room in the bar to eat also

Wonderful food and very friendly efficient service. Very good portion sizes for the luncheon offer. Best Roast potatoes I have had out in a long time. The roast lamb was amazing and the Salmon flavoursome and beautifully presented. Very lively and family friendly atmosphere with comfortable chairs and tables. Good parking availability. Overall a first class experience.

Disappointing evening. We had booked at table in the dining room for a special meal but found on arrival that the bar and dinner menus were combined and now were to be served in the bar area. Had we known this we would have booked elsewhere The meal itself was ok but nothing special and some things were off the menu. Doubt that we would visit again.

Disappointing, much better on previous visits. Booked for Sunday Lunch in the restaurant, but we were given a table in the bar area. When queried, we were eventually moved to the restaurant which was almost empty. Table was dirty, despite cleaner tables being available. Service was very slow. Food was average, but tiny portions. Overall very disappointing. Perhaps they were having a bad day. Previous visits for dinner were much better.
