A classic Victorian building with cobbled brickwork, chunky oak beams and an old-fashioned hearth, The Grange Farm in Oadby used to be a charming farmhouse. The dedication to cuisine continues with the traditional British pub menu, which can be savoured from the pretty al fresco dining garden, close to the countryside.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Grange Farm menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Grange Farm ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

In Oadby, the Grange Farm is only 10 minutes’ driving into central Leicester.

Enjoyed meal, Service was nice and quick. The only thing that was annoying was a woman that sat two tables away kept having her mobile ringing and she was very loud talking, which is unfair to all the others there, really don't want to listen to a conversation when we are trying to have a conversation ourselves and relax, also her children were very noisy, can it not be possible to site the people with young children in a different part of the Grange. We were in there a week ago on a Saturday as we do like the meals there and there was another couple with a young child and baby, unfortunately the baby was crying a lot and the child was running up and down. Don't get me wrong I have young children and I do not allow them to run about or disturb other diners, so if there could be a part of the Grange where parents with young children could be seated, would make it a pleasurable experience for other diners. You asked for overall comments so I have given you them also there other people that have complained to me about this.!!!!!!

Lovely well cooked food. Sticky toffee and apple pud is excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. One minor gripe some areas are a bit dark and draughty but they are happy to move you if they can.

Took two friends last Sunday for lunch. Neither had been there before. I have been many times. We all had the lamb shank, although it was just ok, it wanted at least twenty more minutes for it to full off the bone. A little disappointed for my two friends, normally lunch is vey good.

Overall experience okay, waitress and rest of staff were friendly and helpful. BUT two of us ordered fish and chips and the fish was very poor, partly undercooked and it didnt flake at all. It looked very unappetising as grey coloured. We informed the waitress who immeditely offered to replace it. We asked for another piece of fish to share, but this was a long time arriving by which time we had finished the rest of our plates. The replacement fish was cooked but still poor, what sort of fish was it? It didnt seem to have any flavour and still no flakes of nice fish. The ham didnt look great either on another main course of ham, egg and chips, quite dry. Shame it was a birthday family group and grandma - who's birthday it was - didnt enjoy her food.

The restaurant was slightly cold even though the coal fire was blazing away. The bench chair I sat on was stained and also threadbare in places, not very good. I had the beef pie with mushrooms. It was well presented but there was not enough meat under the pastry. My wife had the roast chicken which was fine. The waitress who took our order and served us was excellent.I also had a pint of beer. Possibly not quite a pint though because it was not filled to the top. No line however on the glass.
