Waitress service was polite. Nice setting. Potato skin starter was disappointing- more like wedges and not dusted in parmesan or truffle salt as described on menu. Had to return main meal - ox cheeks as they were tough and sinewy. They had not been braised and the lentils were hard. Quick replacement with new main, belly pork but missed the crackling that my partners had come with. Veg could have been better but the pork was delicious. Pudding and ales were lovely.

Have eaten here many times, booked a table for 8 people at 3.30 so we could eat following a Segway experience, so booked a couple of months in advance. Our table was not ready when we arrived, we waited half an hour to be seated. It was really busy and apologies were made. The food, on the whole, was as good as it always is and was enjoyed by all. However, a child's cheeseburger meal was ordered, this was last to be brought out, quite a while after everyone elses so the meals were going cold . The cheeseburger was a disaster...tiny overcooked burger in huge bun with no cheese or anything else on it. Quite disappointing when ever thing else was so good!

We were looked after very well. Enjoying drinks brought to us outside in the sunshine then shown to our table inside. The lunch small plates were ample and food very good. A great dining experience.

i booked on line and had a voucher for discount...unfortunately your vouchers were mon to thurs dining but I didn't read the new ones and they were for mon to wed..so I originally book for Thursday..but a very efficient member of the staff noticed this and rang me to explain that the voucher could not be used on a Thursday instead we re booked for the Tuesday...I thought that service impressed me as she had put herself out to be sure we had the right dining experience...

Fabulous meal with good friendly service. The fish were enormous and the ox cheek was very well presented. So good to be able to book a table online.

Excellent service, our waitress was charming, helpful and very efficient, we commented at the time on at how good the service was. The food was fine, well presented although one member of our party, who had the pie of the day, commented that she would have liked potatoes included and the seasonal vegetables were a little disappointing.
