We had risotto and the lamb and both were excellent. Only downside was the service was slow with our drinks which we could see sitting on the bar but no one brought them over for about 10 mins.

Food very good. Service good but a little slow.

Terrible place. In fact, we didn't dine there - we walked out. There were screaming kids running around.

We ate here 3 times overall! ... once for coffee, when we were made very welcome, light lunch before golf (loved the Goodwood sausage rolls, would have liked a few more rather than the light bite route I went down), then dinner. Liked the food, well prepared and presented, attentive table staff. Good to be out of doors for coffee and lunch, some of the planters are bit big and block the view!

Service was very good, however the food seemed a little expensive. My husband ordered Steak and Chips and he had 4 chips (which seemed to be the norm!) Bearing in mind the cost of potatoes this seemed very poor.

It was adequate but not special. Cauliflower Fritters were a bit dry and over-fried and needed something to liven them up. However, the Bubble and Squeak with bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce was delicious. We were seated next to what seemed to be a sports bar and there was a lot of traffic passing by us which was quite distracting. The service was fine but overall we were a little disappointed.

I am a member of The Kennels and regularly eat at the Bar & Grill and The Richmond Arms, as well as regularly attending the Festival of Speed, The Revival, Members' Meetings, Breakfast Clubs and so forth. I am therefore fully aware of the level of service that the Goodwood Estate prides itself on. This meal - luncheon for a party of seven - at the Bar & Grill however is not just the worst service I have had at Goodwood, it is the worst service I have had in a restaurant, period.
The aperitifs took ten minutes to arrive and the staff could not remember who had ordered what. One of the drinks was wrong. Food service then took nearly an hour, despite the restaurant being relatively quiet. When it did arrive, one of my guest's starter was brought out with the main meal; my wife's steak - which she ordered 'very well done' - was pink; some of the food was lukewarm, and; one of my guest's meals was missed off completely. This was blamed on a problem with the till, despite it being blatantly obvious that another diner received this meal instead. And still the staff did not know who had ordered what. This is supposed to be a prime hotel restaurant, not a Little Chef on the M1.
I asked to see the manager and remonstrated with him. He told me he would make some adjustment to the bill, but I was not interested in money. I suggested that perhaps he would like to personally apologise to my guests when we left, which he agreed. He said that as he was about to finish his shift he would organise for the other manager to do this.
When we came to leave, there was no amendment to the bill nor any sign of the manager.
I notice that prices at the Bar & Grill have started to creep up, and there is now a disparity between the expectation at this price point and what is actually delivered. I shall not dine here again until I am assured that the service is at the level it should be, like The Kennels, where the manager and staff are by far and away the greatest credit to the Goodwood Estate.

Very disappointing, took my dad as a special treat, having read online menu and specials then booked a table online. We were given a table in the restaurant and email confirming we would be able to book from the 'a la Carter' menu. We arrived to find that neither the a la Carter menu or the two course men advertised online were available and were offered an alternative menu which included sandwiches and jacket potatoes. We had a drink and left. Really think that the website should be kept up to date as it was not a good surprise for my dad and had I known I would never have booked a table.
