Friendly staff, however they could do with training! For example wine poured without being offered to taste, water dumped on the table and left.
Even worse the clattering noise of empty tables being prepared for breakfast - noise at at the circuit during the day most welcome, not at the dinner table.
    However the food was good.

We have lunched at the bar and grill several times but this is the first time we have been since the table and chairs have been replaced with the all white furniture. Not sure I like the look of it as it looks like a school canteen.
The food is very good but many of the dishes need some gravy or jus. Our party had crab pasta that was a little dry, I had the lamb that only had a tomatoe for moisture and the ale pie that does need some extra gravy. On a previous occasion with different guest they also had the pie and they did ask for some gravy but were told that they don't have gravy but could do a jus.
The men at this lunch all had the Spotted dick but they would have liked some custard with it and not just a swirl on the plate for presentation. I just think a small pot on the side of gravy, jus, or custard would give the diner a choice.

Staff very friendly, liked flexibility of supper to spend £25 from normal ( non- package) menu. Woukd welcome being able to upscale to Farmer, Butcher Chef restaurant too - greater variety. ( We ate lunch, dinner & breakfast in the Grill Bar so variety would have been appreciated.) Steak bit chewy, one of party could not order first choice disappointing as restaurant not full, choice of dinner starters could be improved but breakfast choice delicious.

Lovely setting, staff attentive and the breakfast was superb and good value for money. Can't wait to go back in the spring when the patio doors are open onto the outside area.

Friendly service but the kitchen was slow and its unforgivable to not count 8 people should mean 8 main courses - and this wasn't the only item they left off our order. It was rectified but everyone else who had courtesy to wait for the last main meal then didn't have fresh hot food. It wasn't exactly busy at 830pm on 23rd Dec either.

We wanted to dine in the Richmond Arms but it was closed, the Kennels was not available so had to go to the grill. I had a friend from Canada and wanted to show off Goodwood to her.
The table we were shown to had not been wiped down, even though it was paid up and was sticky with glass rings so we had to ask for it to be wiped.
The menu presented to us was dog eared and tatty, we were then given an extra piece of paper and was told there was a special two course meal being finalised. We then had to ask three times to get this menu. We opted for the burger which when it arrived was a nasty grreasy thing in an overcooked bun that was very messy to eat and not very nice, the chips were also overcooked and hard, I wanted to complain at this point but my friend said that she had come to see me and not to make a fuss and spoil the evening.
We ordered dessert which both of us found horrible, some mousse with a chocolate crumble and walnuts that tasted like greasy bits of cardboard, it really was not at all nice. Again I wanted to complain but we decided to just have a coffee and leave and go to a pub to get the greasy taste out of our mouths. We ordered coffee that arrived without sugar which I had to get up and ask for.
We ordered the bill but this took so long I had to go to the bar and ask again, when the bill arrived we were charged for the wine that was supposed to be part of the menu.
All in all a very mediocre meal.

Food Excellent, service excellent, very well looked after. The fish and chips was popular with our group. Booking worked well.

Food good. Plastic chairs not that comfortable and table for 4 a bit small (too like an outdoor even). Also room a bit chilly needed to put coat over my shoulders part of the time. Service generally OK but a bit slow to bring second loot of drinks
