Low timber beams, flagstone floors and a roaring fire lend rustic style to the 18th-century inn The Golden Cross in Ardens Grafton. With a light and airy restaurant area, as well as a patio for al fresco dining, freshly prepared pub favourites feature alongside globally inspired dishes on the Golden Cross menu.
All Golden Cross dishes are cooked to order, the pub famed for its signature recipe faggots and impressive Sunday lunches. Traditional roasts are preceded by pate, calamari and garlic mushroom starters, and followed with tempting homemade desserts.
Locally sourced aged steaks are another highlight at the Golden Cross restaurant, and a key part of the live music event Songs and Steaks on Thursday nights. Teriyaki salmon, vegetable moussaka and grilled sea bass with spring onion mash are all on the eclectic menu, with regularly changing specials to try.
Themed food nights and wine tasting events provide more variety at The Golden Cross in Warwickshire, which also serves a tasty children’s menu. Ardens Grafton village is an 11-minute drive from Stratford-upon-Avon.
