Serving traditional British pub cuisine, The Glover Arms in Perth has pretty country views, which can be enjoyed from the al fresco beer garden, but is also close to the town. It boasts classic brick and oak interior design and the cosy log fire to give a welcoming feel.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Glover Arms menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Glover Arms ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Glover Arms is but 7 minutes’ drive from central Perth.

Poor service and lukewarm food. Staff were pleasant but they need more staff if they are going to take the bookings! Simple as that.

I booked Sunday lunch for 5 plus 14-month-old toddler. My wife thought there were omissions from the menu, such as choice of fish. I was aiming for the Sunday roast which was beef; while it was a bit firm and needed more chewing effort than our local butcher's offering which is sourced from local farms, it was tasty and the quantity more than adequate. Our starter was roasted camembert--not everyone's taste, but to some, delicious. The main was too large to encourage afters, and since our son-in-law and daughter had to get back to Edinburgh, we called it a day. £86 total for the starter, 5 full mains plus kiddy's meal which met with her approval!
The staff could not have been more helpful and the service was excellent.
There was plenty of parking space on the day we went (14 August) although it should be said there seemed no pressure on space in the eatery on this occasion--busier on the previous one, but no problem.
The decor was unobtrusive and homely.
The building is adjacent to a Travelodge and, a carpark's walk away, a Dobbies garden centre nearby. It is on the A85 Perth-Crieff road beside the A85 exit from the Perth bypass.
In answer to the question 'What would you recommend this restaurant for?', I have no experience of it other than family lunches (twice), so no score doesn't mean it's not suitable.
Can't comment on drinks, as drivers in Scotland are subject to stringent drink-drive limits and our women don't take significant amounts of alcohol. We all had proprietary soft drinks, tap-water (good in Scotland!) or milk.

Very friendly and warm reception on entering the restaurant. I loved the arrangement of areas with different types of tables and chairs. A good varied menu, well priced. All hot food was served in heated bowls or on hot plates. All dishes were excellently laid out. Although they were busy for a Thursday lunch time we werent hurried to finish.
