Ever a rustic fixture in Newton St Loe, The Globe – Bath was established in the 17th century and continues to deliver traditional British pub cuisine in a beautiful setting. From the cosy hearth-fire and al fresco beer garden you can enjoy the appealing cobbled stone walls, the great country view and the seasonal food.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Globe menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies designed by celebrity chef James Martin offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Globe ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Globe in Newton St Loe is just 7 minutes’ drive from Oldfield Park Train Station, near Bath.

We arrived just before our allocated time. The online booking had been successful and we were on their list. We were shown to our table. Two of the three were over 80 and both have mobility problems. The staff were considerate of their needs and happy to help! There was an excellent choice on the menu with lighter meals for those with smaller appetites. The order was taken and the food arrived quite quickly afterwards. We were offered pudding and given time to decide. We were not rushed and could sit and chat. Overall the food was good and well priced.

Very dissapointed with the Beef Merlot - the pastry top was good but the filling was a disaster - i calculated that 50% was strings of fat from the beef - really bad - we hav e been to the Globe often but this choice did not pass as any good wotsoever. And We always have cheese and biscuits but the biscuits served are not to everyones liking - some other cheese biscuits would be better

I'll start with saying thank goodness I booked in advance. A very popular and busy pub.
From the minute we walked in we were welcomed and shown to our table. Our waitress Sophia was excellent in making sure we had everything we wanted/needed. The wait for food and drinks is on par with anywhere else that we have visited so no complaints there. My husband had a chicken pie whilst the rest of us had a Sunday roast - all delicious - our only gripe was that the roast potatoes were hard (and big!).
    Desserts were lovely too.
The rest room for ladies was nice and clean.
The whole pub had a very comfortable feel about it - I love the scatter cushions!
We will definitely be back again.

Lovely food but the service was disappointingly very slow. Had to push for dessert menu and bill. Then had to go to counter to pay as I got fed up of waiting for someone to come to me.
