Ever a rustic fixture in Newton St Loe, The Globe – Bath was established in the 17th century and continues to deliver traditional British pub cuisine in a beautiful setting. From the cosy hearth-fire and al fresco beer garden you can enjoy the appealing cobbled stone walls, the great country view and the seasonal food.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Globe menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Globe ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Globe in Newton St Loe is just 7 minutes’ drive from Oldfield Park Train Station, near Bath.

A very friendly place extremely nice waitress food very good We liked the option to have a smaller dessert with coffee or tea for £4. 50. The four of us had steak chicken pie ham, egg and chips and ham hock, all enjoyed our meals.

Excellent food. 5 of us, we all had something different and none of us disappointed. Wagyu beef burgers particularly good.

Enjoyed the meal.Actually ate there Sat 13th and 14th August.
Spent a lot of money there over the two days with family members
Was disappointed therefore that under special instructions for the 14th I informed the restsurant it was my mothers
birthday and it was completely ignored. Not happy about this.
Also on both days I was suffering from a tummy bug and was only able to eat some chicken and mashed potatoe on the Sat and Sunday a few bits turkey and mashed potatoes.
I paid the full price for these meals despite having not all of the meal on my plate!. One of your waitresses on Sunday jokingly said oh I should have really given you a childs portion given what you have eaten.
I should have thought on both occasions I should have been offered this
    Disappointed with the visits

Nice venue and friendly staff. Like the make over. Hunters chicken, although well presented ,was over cooked. The desserts were very over priced. A tiny portion of Creme brûlée with over cooked biscuits. Who would pay £6.50 for a slice of Bakewell Tart! which costs next to nothing to produce!
Used a gourmet card but could have had a 20per cent discount by booking online anyway. The prices appear to have been inflated to cover this discount. For this reason, would not want to pay full price which is a shame because The Globe, being close to where we live, is convenient and usually busy. Would not purchase a desert again because of the prices. You will go the loser because normally we would not hesitate in choosing a dessert at a reasonable price. Never again at these prices.

The Globe is very convenient for where I live, and there are no car parking problems. I go there fairly regularly, but not just because of this. The restaurant has been refurbished recently, and is comfortable and has sufficient space between tables. The food is good quality and well presented. The menu offers sufficiently wide choice, and they are willing to make small changes when requested. The best thing about The Globe is the staff. The same staff are regularly there, they are friendly and very helpful and efficient. You are kept informed should there be any delays.

Very good meal. Attentive staff, we were given a table near the entrance because it was spotted that my wife was disabled with Parkinson's.
