Very disappointed. Web site stated dress code and we wore compliant attire. When we arrived at restaurant we found dress code not enforced- men wearing shorts and sneakers; women wearing short shorts and short dresses and flip flops, children running in restaurant and playing on the floor. This was not the atmosphere we expected for a high tea at Herrods.
    Food was good.

Harrods, of course, tremendously luxury department store. I went there with my wife, who has been looking forward to visiting there. Afternoon tea with champagne was very good, furthermore clotted cream was more delicious. The reason we chose here is superiority of clotted cream among those of other restaurants. I am crazy for heavy cream, so it was delicious.
One disappointed point was that our service person was a little friendly. We had five cups of tea in total. But we had to serve three cups by ourselves. The person in charge of our table should have to care more. The real silver tea kettle was so heavy.
Returning to the food floor, I was so surprised at its vast space. We wished there to explore all.
Anyway, we hope come back here again.

It was lovely! We got given extra sandwiches and they did an anniversary plate for us :) the only thing I didn't like was we got offered water then was charged £6.50 for it at the end, apart from that it was amazing and I will be going back soon!

Food was fine, and the service was fine. However, the entire situation was ruined by a family allowing their child to wander the dining hall, banging his loud, talking Spider-Man toy onto every surface he could find, all while the adults that brought him paid no attention to him, other than to chase him around the hall to shove food in his mouth. Five other tables all locked eyes with each other and us as this went down, and the staff huddled trying to figure out what to do, which was eventually nothing. We complained to the manager as politely as we could. When the manager came out, she was somebody we had not seen up to that point, meaning the staff didn't ask her to come out to evaluate the situation. She offered us drinks or snacks later, which we declined, as we wanted nothing more than to find the exit by that point. A reduction n the bill, or a credit to use in the rest of the store would've been more appropriate.

We traveled across the ocean to experience the UK, and this was going to be one of the highlights. A much looked forward-to High Tea ruined, and $230 USD completely wasted.

Champagne afternoon tea was excellent, good quality, service was excellent with several offers of more sandwiches, scones etc. My wife and I both expected small portions but there was plenty, and we both felt that for a special afternoon tea the FOOD WAS GOOD QUALITY AND VALUE, but the location and experience of a special afternoon tea wasn't. The restaurant provides a lovely setting, and the service was excellent, just what you would expect but I will not return. The booking I made clearly stated that there was a dress code, stating no sportswear, sports shoes, open toe shoes for men, collared shirts etc...this was widely ignored, which was particularly irritating bearing in mind the 30 degree heat outside, and bearing in mind that I had adhered to the dress code that was re-enforced on my booking. When I queried this the staff could not offer any valid reason why the dress code was ignored, the fact that there was plenty of empty tables was probably the reason why.

Food excellent but there are better scones at the Ritz

Not easy to find the restaurant inside the store, but worth the search. Wonderful afternoon tea, excellent service and the whole experience made that much more special by having live music from a pianist. Actually preferred Harrods to the Savoy for afternoon tea. The egg sandwiches were superb, as were the scones and the lemon curd. Could have had more of everything (it was offered) but just too full. Not cheap but unquestionably worth the money.
