Dating all the way back to the 13th century, The George & Dragon is a stunning pub filled with rustic oaks beams, crackling fireplaces, and intimate little nooks. There is a beautiful garden that's perfect for lazy drinks in the sun, or enjoying a relaxed meal of gourmet British pub grub with friends.

The George & Dragon menu uses the finest seasonal ingredients to craft a selection of both British and international treats. There are classic flavours like chicken, asparagus and wild garlic pie, along with succulent steaks from the grill, while international recipes are showcased with recipes like Moroccan butternut squash and chickpea tagine. On Sundays, mouthwatering roast dinners feature slow-cooked meats with all the trimmings.

Desserts at The George & Dragon in Tunbridge Wells include raspberry parfait with frangipane and Italian meringue. From the bar, there are cask ales, international spirits, and a wine list with a great selection of vintages.

A lovingly preserved example of rural British tradition, The George & Dragon is a 10-minute drive from Tunbridge Wells Rail Station.

Good lunch. The bean and chorizo soup was particularly tasty, as was the asparagus and poached egg.

Good dining atmosphere in a very ancient pub. Not an extensive menu for an evening meal, as many of the dishes were pub lunch favourites but the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly service.

This is a delightful country pub. Lots of nooks and crannies and generally nice atmosphere. Still pretty chilly in May in unseasonably cold weather. Without being asked an extra heater was put near our table for 2, and as other diners came in the temperature was fine. Nice touch though. Smallish menu of pub classics and a few speciality dishes. Something for most tastes. Everything we ate and saw served at other tables was tasty, well presented and full sized. A couple of glasses of wine were well priced and good examples of their type. The waiting/bar staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Not super value, £60 for two eating one course and one glass of wine each. But all worth going out of your way for.

The food was lovely and the staff were all very helpful and did not seem to mind us sitting at our table long after we had finished eating.

Lovely atmospheric bar/restaurant. Food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The service though was a little slow to start with to take our orders - probably because we were the only diners to start with which was a little disappointing. Would recommend!

The food took a while to arrive but it was totally worth it. Delicious! We'll be back!

Two of the orders for mains in our party of 5 were messed up. Had to wait while rest of party ate. But service charge still levied. Did not protest at time to avoid upsetting guests.
