The baked haddock Florentine is one of my favourite lunched. The limoncello and blackcurrant ice cream was superb. Great service with a smile from Adrian.

The Fox Inn Bury St Edmunds is a comfy, rural pub, serving classic British recipes along with cask ales. This 15th-century building is rich in history, and is moments from the Bury Town Football Club.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, The Fox Inn menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at The Fox Inn pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Also offering accommodation, The Fox Inn is a 6-minute drive from Bury St Edmunds Rail Station.

I wanted to take my parents out for a meal and was looking at different places to eat in Bury St Edmunds that I thought they may like. After a while I found the Fox. After viewing the web site and looking through the menu and reading different reviews, I booked a table.
We were a little late getting there and I apologised but was told by a lovely young man not to worry it wasn't a problem. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the whole experience was wonderful, service, food, staff. Mum and Dad loved it and we will be visiting again.

Our Sunday roasts were all good- beef rib and chicken and the child's meal was exceptional value- finished off with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit. The chocolate brownie was to die for. There were 12 of us, all but three were in their 80's and 90's.We werer persented, eventaully, with a choice of 4 menu's to choose from, buty we all selected the "Golden years" one where for £5.99 we could enjoy two courses, or for £7.49, three courses. The food was ample, well cooked and presented and most certainly very good value for the money we paid. Service was cheery and excellent.

The only (minor) criticism was that the meal took about 45 minsutes longer than we would normally gave expected, but that was (presumably) due to the decision taken by the venue (a reasonable one) to serve everypbne more or less together. The issue was that those who chose a starter and main course were served first and the others (who ordered main and dessert) had to wait untuil the starteres had been eaten and cleared away. Similarly, therefore, the former group had to wait for the latter to have their dersserts!
