In the hometown of the Concorde, The Fox Den in Stoke Gifford has old world charm in the face of modern engineering. The cobbled stone design and cosy oaken hearth aid the rustic atmosphere, and the food can be savoured from the al fresco beer garden in summer.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fox Den menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fox Den ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Fox Den Filton is only 15 minutes’ walking from Bristol Parkway Train Station, or a 10-minute drive from the city centre.

Bit disappointing, order didn't go through, so waited 20 mins for our drinks to arrive after speaking to the waiter. Seating was a bit cramped, even though there were plenty of empty tables and the menu seems to have gone down hill (a bit boring).
Used to consider this a favourite of ours but will probably give it a miss for a while.

I enjoy the food and ambience. It is also very convenient for the hotel next door which I often stay in. My one complaint is that I nearly always have to wait ages to get a drink.

We had difficulty finding the restaurant so ended up being late for our reservation.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, the menu was varied and the food itself was good.
I also liked the option of having a mini dessert with a hot drink that's a nice option.
The service was good initially but then a big group arrived so it was difficult to maintain but overall she did really well.

Meal was nice, service left a lot to be desired. Not a pleasant experience.

Very pleasant. The food was delicious- - all 5 of us sent back almost completely clean plates, which was an indication we had enjoyed it and, as those who had dessert had the mini ones with a hot drink, that shows the plates were empty because the food was so good - not that we were still hungry! We all had something different for our main course - pies, scampi, ham and egg and Caesar salad which, I think sows the whole menu must be tremendous. The ambience was really welcoming - a warm cosy atmosphere- particularly nice on such a grey day.

The experience was not as good as my last visit a couple of months ago. I think the festive season for dining is never as good as it seems they are catering for the masses. The chicken pie with mash & veg was tasty and I liked the choice of a smaller dessert with a beverage - a pot of tea - my choice over a cup! It's not the cheapest of places to dine but I shall try it again in the new year

Lovely staff and great service. Very nice cosy atmosphere - festive but not overdone. The food was good - the only thing was that the lentil sauce on my sea bass was too dark and strong for such a delicate fish. Also, I would have preferred the prawns/lobster in a glass - but call me old-fashioned! Otherwise everything was great and I would certainly visit again.
