Originally a quaint farmhouse, the The Fowlers Farm still values its pastoral heritage and delivers traditional British food, with oaken beams and a countryside situation. The 500-year-old building boasts a cosy hearth and an al fresco beer garden with eye-catching views of the surrounding country.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fowlers Farm menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies designed by celebrity chef James Martin offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fowlers Farm ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Fowlers Farm is only a 15-minute walk from Braintree Freeport Train Station, or a 5-minute drive into the town centre.

I use Fowlers Farm to meet up with friends and family as this is like a half-way house for us. The staff are always friendly and the food is good. I am especially pleased with the 'Gluten Free' menu and the knowledge of staff / chief as my sister is Coeliac and we know Fowlers Farm is safe for her.

Wouldn't come for a Sunday roast at that time again ie 4pm!! Had run out of roast potatos and my daughter and I had the last few, not the standard they should have been! The cauliflower cheese also not cooked to high standard, however the manager did subtract the cost of it off the bill when I commented on it!

Seven of my nearest and dearest dined at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. the waitress was very sociable and attentive and very helpful to one of the members who was a vegetarian but couldnt eat cheese. She found out if there was any cheese in one of the vegetarian dishes. All in all a successful evening.

Unfortunately not a good culinary experience We were looking forward to the evening meal, the meals that were ordered Grilled Chicken reasonable, the Burger was not the expectation , you would like, and my steak was very small, It was ordered to be medium, and the service was excellent by the staff, but for the price not acceptable for what we recieved

Fowlers farm provided excellent food as usual, beautifully presented. We weren't hurried through our meal and we had no complaints.
