In a charming old Victorian building, The Flying Fox near Milton Keynes has oaken and brick furnishings, and serves trusty British pub cuisine. Prizing its beautiful pastoral location, and with views to King’s Wood, The Flying Fox features an idyllic garden with seating and a cosy log fire.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Flying Fox menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Flying Fox ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Flying Fox is only 7 minutes’ drive from Fenny Stratford Station, and 9 minutes from Milton Keynes Train Station.

I took my friend for an early dinner at 5pm. All great, good food both of us had 3 courses and enjoyed all of them.
We had the sharing dessert which is just yummy and plenty enough

The service was very good and the staff were really lovely. The food, however, was very mediocre. The 'garden' is just a few tables in front of the restaurant by the road and were all in deep shade when we arrived on a lovely sunny evening, so nobody was sitting outside.

We had a lovely Sunday roast and the staff were really excellent with my 97 year old Uncle. Highly recommended.

Lovely as usual. They had sorted a nice table for us in the restaurant bit. Was a bit concerned as have been there a number of times with no problems and then read some rather worrying reviews about it going downhill and the food not being very good. Our food was lovely, no complaints whatsoever, everyone enjoyed their meals. It was quite busy and so we had a slight wait for our drinks but the staff were welcoming and very attentive. Will definitely be going back :)

It was lunchtime and I believe we were the first order of the day, I chose the fish and chips, the triple cooked chips were dry and tasteless, I only ate 4! The fish was lovely but sadly the batter was oily and gooey inside. My friend had the Hunters chicken which she said was lovely and agreed chips were dry but she had sauce to liven them up a bit.
Dessert was lovely as was the coffee. Can't fault the service.

As usual a great Sunday lunch. It is my favourite place for a Sunday roast. We chose to have a turkey toast and 2 platters for one. The meat was very tender, veggies, roast potatoes and parsnips lovely. The everlasting gravy is to die for.
The desserts were lovely, melt in the mouth sticky toffee pudding with plenty of custard.
The service was excellent, very friendly, polite, happy waitress, service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Have also eaten here at other lunchtimes and in the evenings. Never had a bad meal.
