Extremely friendly staff (Jo our waitress was funny and lovely) good service. Burger was cooked to our liking as we wanted it well done.

With a terrace overlooking the Grand Union Canal for waterside al fresco dining, The Fishery Inn serves a menu of season British pub food. A restored village pub, it contains plenty of cosy nooks and fireplaces, adding to its country-style charm.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Fishery Inn menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Fishery Inn cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Fishery Inn is a 3-minute walk from Hemel Hempstead Rail Station.

Excellent service. Food good (although not overly keen on the crab balls that came with scallops). Good value, lovely ambience. One of my favourite restaurants.

Our server, Jamie, was superb - attentive, happy, smiley and friendly. Food was excellent - we both had fish & chips, which tasted great and was beautifully presented.
    Wonderful evening.

Very nice really enjoyed it. There should have been a goodbye and thankyou from someone. Had the same menu at the Orangery Totteridge, highly recommended the pork belly and scallops to our guest, embarrassed to see they were only given 2 scallops which was rather mean for the extra cost - I had 5 at Totteridge and even then would have expected at least one more.

Good, well priced menu. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We will certainly return.

The Brie starter was poor value for money as it was so small. The Gammon main course was also poor with the Gammon being tough and appeared to be process/compressed meat with very little taste, the eggs were over cooked. All basic faults but the waitress sounded sympathetic but did absolutely nothing and gave us no feedback.
We have eaten at the Fisheries many times but now you have your new menu - never again if you can't serve it properly or your staff won't take on board comments.

Lovely place to dine, quite cosy with the Fire lit. Food was exceptional and staff very friendly although not enough of them as had to wait quite awhile in between courses but we weren't in a hurry and enjoyed the evening.

Dreadful. The food is ok, but the staff are awful. Rude and ignorant. Won't be going back. Used to enjoy going to the Fishey. Not any more. The Marchmont (in the same chain) is a lot better.

I dined with two friends and there was plenty of choice and the service was swift but not pressing. The food was very tasty and the wine suggestions were good. We liked the way the tables were arranged; you felt part of the restaurant but also secluded enough to have private conversations in comfort.
