A popular South London landmark for over 100 years now, The Fire Station Waterloo is a vibrant, spacious bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere. The interior blends the long history of the building with contemporary touches, there are plenty of booths for groups, and lots of space at the bar to hang out and see the bartenders mix up cocktails with flair.

From juicy burgers to creative pizzas, the Fire Station Waterloo menu takes classic crowd-pleasers and gives them creative gourmet touches. Breakfast and brunch is covered with options like brown butter pancakes, or toasted sour dough with a range of additions like sautéed mushrooms and avocado. The burgers pack in toppings like black pudding, salt beef and Tabasco mayo, while the pizzas come with treats like blackened jerk chicken and caramelised pineapple.

For dessert, The Fire Station in Waterloo has treats like dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce and toffee ice cream, while from the bar there are international beers and wines served alongside a great selection of cocktails.

With a huge following thanks to its grand setting and great ambience, The Fire Station Waterloo is a stone's throw from the local IMAX, and the attractions of the South Bank. Waterloo Tube Station is just next door as well.

Great find very close to Waterloo Station. Good choice on the menu - including a half and half pizza/salad combo which was delicious. Service was very prompt - and on the hottest day in June the air con in the restaurant was very welcome. Toilets were also a brilliant standard.

Party of 9, for a family reunion, we had a table in the (slightly) quieter area of the restaurant. Food all delicious, cocktails exciting. Service excellent. A little bit noisy... but you'd expect that on a Friday evening.

Food good but very noisy indeed and poor acoustics. Good service and waitress.

Good vibe, good service, not cheap, great nachos, smoked salmon and samphire pizza didn't have much of either on it.

I chose The Fire Station Waterloo based on its location very near the Old Vic, where I was seeing a matinee, and good reviews. It was a great choice for lunch! Comfy seats, great service and delicious food! And very good value. What more could you want? Also nice decor and nice clean loos on the same floor as the restaurant and not down stairs. Lunch was £32 for 2 of us.

My wife and I had lunch at the Fire Station prior to seeing the matinee performance of 'Groundhog Day' at the Old Vic -- which is within sight of the Fire Station. Good food, great dessert, outstanding wait staff!
