Our favourite dish was Fish cakes in sweet chilli sauce but you don't do it anymore in that sauce.

With a rich musical heritage, The Concorde is a Southampton hotel that has hosted early performances from Elton John, Rod Stewart and Eric Clapton. One of its dining rooms is The Fig, a laidback yet elegant area that started its life as the musicians’ bar.

Alongside seasonal daily specials, the menu at The Fig offers pleasing pub-style classics, like sirloin steak, roasted vegetables and hand-cut chunky chips, and coq au vin with garlic and herb-sautéed potatoes. Lunch at The Fig features a selection of easy-dining options, from chicken caesar salad with grilled bacon to a red pepper and tomato salsa pasta bake.

The Fig in Eastleigh draws on its musical heritage with a large pewter statue of a jazz trumpeter taking centre-stage. Live jazz is provided by the Dave Lewin Trio, while there’s a scenic woodland and riverside terrace for al fresco dining.

The Fig is a cosy dining space with rustic wooden floors and snug sofas. Southampton Airport is a 6-minute drive away.

From the minute my school friend and I turned up for my birthday meal we were met with the lovely Angela who was very helpful, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxing. As for the meal we ended up with the 2 course meal and was surprised at the amount of food was on the plate for the price. Very good value and very tasty. Thank you for a lovely first time experience.

Booking was quick and easy, service was excellent, food good but not comfortable with the diner with her dog in the restaurant.

Welcoming staff were friendly, accommodating but could do with being a bit more attentive, like seeing if anyone needed anything more often and pouring wine for customers (at least the first one anyway).

Lovely food, but only one choose for veggies on the menu this seems a bit mean epsecially if one doesn't like Aubergine.

Great atmospheric and interesting interior design to the restaurant and bar.

I put my coat on the floor next to the walls and it got dust clumps on it, so more attention needed at the edges of the restaurant I think.

Overall a great experience and will definitely return again.

I have lunched at the Moldy Fig for many years usually for business purposes. The surroundings are such that you are able to communicate with clients without fear of being overheard. The menu has become more varied in recent months which was much needed. I chose the lasagne which unfortunately was off the menu but my second choice was very good. The staff are always so friendly and all in all lunch was a pleasant experience.

We were welcomed and settled in a very comfortable and quiet location on sofas in the window for afternoon tea with friends.
Pleasant and attentive service as and when necessary. Not at all hurried.
The afternoon tea looked delightful and we ate most of it and took some home. The sandwiches were particularly tasty.
