We were very lucky to have had a break in the weather and decided to eat our Afternoon Tea outside. The grounds at Great Fosters are beautiful and we also took the opportunity to have a look around while we waited for our reservation time. We both decided to go for the Pimm’s Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness, the Pimm’s cocktail not only tasted wonderful, but the presentation in the glass was stunning. English Breakfast tea and Earl Grey was selected (not the most expansive list of teas we might see elsewhere, but nonetheless delicious) and then came the sandwiches. This must have been the softest bread we have tasted and the fillings were scrumptious (our personal favourites being the smoked salmon and cream cheese on beetroot bread, and roast beef, caramelised onion and rocket on kibbled onion bread. Yum.) They also offered us more after we have finished, which we always like. Sometimes people forget about the sandwich portion of an afternoon tea and it’s definitely not something you want to cast aside.
The scones were lovely and warm, with plenty of jam and clotted cream. Very tasty too! There was also a mini Victoria sponge which was indeed very spongy, as well as an array of cakes! You do only get to try one of each, however I doubt we would have been able to eat everything if they had provided one of each cake to both of us! In fact, we didn’t finish everything, so were kindly provided with pretty boxes to take our leftovers home in.
All in all a wonderful afternoon; in fact I think we rate it as one of our top afternoon teas (and believe me, we’ve done many)!

Beautiful, historic and atmospheric venue..busy, yet we felt and were treated like special guests. The afternoon tea was delicious and very good quality and value. I highly recommend it and will definitely be bak..

Booking was straightforward. Service was excellent. Staff pleasant and attentive but equally left you to enjoy the experience of the afternoon tea. Quality of food was also excellent. The fact that the sandwiches and tea were regularly topped up plus the element of being able to take home the cakes that we just couldn't quite manage was very good. Did not feel rushed despite the 'time slot'. Lovely relaxed environment.

I went with my sisters and a friend for Afternoon Tea at Great Fosters and had a very enjoyable experience. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Estate Grill was cosy and inviting, especially with the log fire burning. Would recommend to family and friends.
