Wonderful experience. Lovely food and delightful tea. We spent a relaxing afternoon with Brown's.

Extremely expensive Tea for nearly £40 per person. Sandwiches were average, scones were more like biscuits, and the seating was extremely uncomfortable for tall guests, as all seats and tables were low to the ground. Nice ambience otherwise. I believe it was refillable sandwiches but they were not that good to warrant refills, and I felt we were overcharged for what we got. I would not recommend this to my friends. I've had many an afternoon tea, and for this price, I can definitely do better in food quality, taste and comfort.

My mum and I arrived early and were shown to seats right away. The Waiters could not have been more attentive, even offering my mum a pillow to make her more comfortable. The Tea was lovely and my mother;s menu as a Diabetic was great. It was quiet and serene with a pianoist in the background. Thoroughly recommend it. Bit disappointed with the addition of £9.95 Service charge, tho worth every penny!

Wonderful afternoon tea with great service and friendly, polite staff. One minor oversight was the lack of hand towels in the ladies cloakroom which were replenished sparingly, at my request at Reception after I had visited the cloakroom, but soon disappeared so I was faced with the same dilemma on a second visit! Given the vast majority of the guests in the Tea Room were female I would have thought ensuring the Ladies cloakroom was kept in prime condition was a must.
Apart from this minor problem, the overall experience was very enjoyable and one I would recommend.

My wife, daughter and I had high expectations of a luxury experience, following in the footsteps of Agatha Christie and many other famous dead celebrities. The atmosphere was pleasant and the ambiance as expected, but the food was disappointing. Had this been a £15 per head tea I would have called it value for money, but the nearly £40 plus 12.5% service charge was a little steep for rather ordinary standard finger sandwiches with minimal filling. Whilst the offer of a replenished plate of sandwiches every time it is emptied is there, the staff made it clear that there was a limit: no sooner had we finished the two SMALL plates, than the waitress brought out the warmed scones. Only after placing them on the stand did she ask if we wanted more sandwiches. And those scones? Very disappointing. The texture was dense, the taste minimal. they were also VERY small - about 40mm diameter. Normally, one expects luxury sandwiches, a decent sized scone (or two, each), and a selection of cakes and pastries. We had rather ordinary sandwiches, substandard scones, and a slice of cake each - you could choose Victoria sandwich or chocolate cake. There were four other things - a lavender jelly, and tiny eclair, a macaroon and a minute piece of carrot cake. This was on one small plate and to share between the three of us. And they weren't particularly nice, either. Whilst the actual post of tea were of high quality, and the presentation nice, we were left a tad disappointed.

We tried both the traditional and the teatox teas, lovely selection with great attention to detail and some exciting cakes and dainties. Piano accompaniment was lovely, and staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly from the moment we arrived. Despite the quite high pricing, it really goes beyond the standard scones, cakes and sandwiches you'd normally get: one of the best afternoon teas in London in my opinion.
