Excellent as always. Top service. Good value for money. Lovely tearoom and piano playing. 5 schoolboys had booked a table as well and got the exact same polite service as adults; that's lovely to see.

Beautiful relaxed setting had been about 4 years previously. Our waiter was very attentive and personalable without being intrusive. We made a point of looking for him before we left to give him a personal tip, (although the bill includes a service charge, we weren't surei if it's always shared amongts the staff) but it appeared that he had already finished. We had a very relaxing birthday treat and the pianist played happy birthday and my friend whose birthday we were celebrating was presented with a tartlet with a candle. Our only disappointment was with a sponge cake which was presented at the end of our cream tea, that had cream and a large strawberry on top. The cream seamed hard and the strawberry not so fresh, maybe needed more time to thaw from being in the chiller. It would have been better to have added the cream and strawberry just before serving. Everything else was spot on, including the warm scones - yummy!!

We were a family of two adults and two children aged 9 and 7 yrs. we booked afternoon tea . We loved it!
The ambiance is charming . We were seated near the piano player which was very nice . Service was lovely . Our server explained everything about the food and dishes in great detail . We ordered the traditional tea and the tea tox . Both were excellent ! The roast beef sandwiches , scones and the Victoria sponge in particular . As well as the chocolate pudding , and open sandwiches for the tea tox tea. Would highly recommend !
