I've been there three times now, and twice the band, Strange Brew, were playing. Great pub, great atmosphere, nice food and drinks, but the band made the night.. We're going again to see them this Saturday - highly recommend this place!

A charming Notting Hill landmark, The Elgin offers the ultimate in British gastro pub dining. Elegant stained glass panels, mismatched furnishings and cosy booths offer quintessential countryside charm indoors.

Sourcing prime produce from across the British Isles, The Elgin menu offers a fresh, homemade selection. As well as comforting Sunday roasts with all the trimmings, succulent grill offerings are served atop chunky butchers’ block-style boards, like dry-aged rib eye steak with hand-cut chips and shallot butter. For dessert at The Elgin restaurant, sample refreshing G&T sorbet, or warm apple pie lathered with vanilla bean ice cream.

Alongside a wine list compiled by and accredited Master of Wine, The Elgin Notting Hill offers regularly changing cask ales. A stock of 30 gins has also brought about The Elgin's nickname, ‘gin palace’.

A homely retreat, The Elgin London offers a buzzing bohemian vibe, and stages regular live music sessions. Ladbroke Grove Tube Station sits a minute’s walk away.

We went about 7pm on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy in the restaurant. Decor inside was amazing and looked very funky. Food was good and starter board was also very tasty. Location was a little dodgy near Ladbroke grove tube. Windows outside were all boarded up when we went which worried us at first but in the back restaurant its very pretty.

Fish and chips brilliant, particularly enjoyed the mushy peas with mint. Only bad comment is they forgot to bring extra mayo.
