In a grand mock Tudor setting, The Egerton Arms serves classic international cuisine. Surrounded by idyllic gardens, the peaceful al fresco area is offset by a lively children’s play area.

Brimming with country pub charm, The Egerton menu showcases a crowd-pleasing range, and makes use of fresh, local produce. As well as a warming short-crust pie of the week, sizzling Cumberland sausages with bubble and squeak is a resounding favourite. More refined flavours at The Egerton restaurant include slow-roast lamb shank with dauphinoise potatoes and honey and rosemary jus.

Littered with nostalgic pictures and creaking bookshelves, The Egerton Cheshire evokes a calm, cosy ambience. Armed with a smooth cask ale or refined glass of wine from the bar, guests can enjoy regular live sessions of smooth jazz.

Filled with unique trinkets and stretching fireplaces, The Egerton Arms in Broxton is full of quaint character. The historic city of Chester sits 10 miles away.

Once again excellent meal and service. Presentation very nice without being too chefy. This is the third time we have visited and it will not be the last, despite a 45 minute drive. Everyone is very pleasant, making for a comfortable environment. Beers ans soft drinks are competetively priced but wine is very expensive, over priced.

My friends and I are frequent visitors of the Egerton Arms and for the first time last night I left feeling disappointed. I didn't rate the service we got and the food was average. We seemed to pay a lot for three main meals a dessert and drinks, and whilst I don't usually mind this as the food and experience is good, I can't say that about last night.
We were seated by the bar and the area was cold, very cold. My friend and I ordered fish pie which is usually delicious but last night it was under seasoned and the langaustines on mine were slimey. They had included mint in the salad which was very unpleasant along with copious amounts of peppery rocket, not flavours that I would say compliment each other. It's November and below 0 outside and I thought salad was an odd choice to accompany the pie. We were not asked by the waiter if we had enjoyed our meals and quite honestly he seemed irritated by us as we took a while to decide on dessert. When we asked for the bill this arrived promptly but it took a further 20 minutes for the gentleman to return to take payment and that was because we had to ask. I usually speak very highly of the Egerton Arms but it fell short of its usual charm last night for some reason ??

Lovely surprise when we arrived- the Christmas tree and decorations were up and fire burning in the log burner. Meal was excellent. I had the pulled beef lasagne which was delicious; everyone else enjoyed their meals too. Puddings were great. Staff were very polite and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and highly recommended.

Food always v good. The fish pie is my favourite. Staff always friendly. 2 for 1 deal does not affect the quality or quantity of the food.
