Located in Dunchurch, a village recognised for its rustic beauty as a conservation area, The Dun Cow serves traditional British pub food in an eye-catching old building named after a local legend. It features a pretty al fresco beer garden to enjoy the unique village, and a welcoming hearth for winter.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Dun Cow menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Dun Cow ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Have eaten here on a number of ocassions and in the main the permanent staff are very good but the temporary help let the side down badly with poor service. However my main issue was the Beef Wellington that was so over cooked it was dry as a bone and at £22 this is unacceptable. The only reason it was not sent back was due to us having elderly guests with us and I decided not to complain as they had never been there before.

The food was good but a bit expensive. Although there is more table service available than previously the waitress who brought our food didn't ask if we wanted anything else (sauces etc) and we had to wait quite a while for these.
We also asked for an extra drink and this didn't arrive even when we reminded the staff.

Meal was good, but could have been hotter. Plenty of food on plate, wide variety of vegetables with the roast. Will definitely dine there again.

I was very satisfied with our visit to the Dun Cow at Dunchurch. The ambiance is pleasant, the seating comfortable and tables well spaced so that you are not a party to others' conversations, and the menu was varied and catered for all. I can't praise the staff highly enough; the weather was foul and as a visitor to the region I had great difficulty in obtaining a taxi. I advised the Dun Cow that I might be slightly late but there was no problem whatsoever and we never, at any time, felt rushed. Our waiter was very attentive and I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The meal was a very average experience the hunters chicken was pretty poor dry & hard I have had better. I remember having to send the very same dish back to the kitchen some time ago when I visited on that occasion it was cold but equally poor. The menu choice was much the same as last & previous years which was not that inspiring. In future I will be only using this establishment for drinks & would probably move on to a better establishment to eat. Location & ambience were good as were staff who were attentive however, most importantly the food was poor which was a shame.

The ambiance is excellent as always, service was faultless, Megan, our waitress was brilliant, no issues there.
The only area of complaint was once specific meal, the Steak pie...hmmm steak is taking it a bit far, there were about 7 small pieces of meat at least on if which was just gristle. If the Dun Cow makes this themselves, well that's awful, if they buy it in, then they need to have words with there supplier, it certainly was not value for money.
