On the edge of the beautiful Peak District, but near to Sheffield, The Dore Moor Inn delivers traditional British pub cuisine in a classic Victorian brick building, which was once a charming coaching inn. The seasonal menu can be enjoyed by the cosy hearth-fire in winter or in the al fresco beer garden in summer.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Dore Moor Inn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Dore Moor Inn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Situated in Dore, The Dore Moor Inn is only 5 minutes’ drive from Dore & Totley Train Station, or 12 minutes from central Sheffield.

Customer reviews for The Dore Moor Inn
(**** 25 October 2016 by Mary Morris from Sheffield
One of our guests ordered fish and chips which when it arrived looked very nice but on "opening" the fish it looked glued together. It did not flake and looked quite unappetising. We called the waiter who took it away and replaced it with another one exactly the same texture. The fish was very poor quality, I've had better in a fish and chip shop. As a result our guest didn't have a main course at all. The staff dealt with all of this very professionally.

I was looking forward to dining here as heard good reviews. However was really disappointed. On arrival there was no one to greet you and the staff around didn't say "sorry someone will be with you etc" after stood waiting 5 mins with no acknowledgement. Then was greeted and asked to order drinks at bar as no table ready. Bar was chock full of used glasses. When seated at table waitress took order after 5-10 mins. Waited for well over an hour without anyone coming to the table to tell us what was happening and then was told when finally food coming out that 3 of our dishes were gone and they were waiting in the kitchen for our alternatives. Really badly managed and didn't feel looked after/felt ignored. We were offered a 20% discount on bill which I would have expected anyway as food was only ok, definitely not worth an hour and half of my time. Sad really for a party of 8.
Glad we were sat in the window

We enjoyed our meal very much. When we arrived it wasn't too busy but the service was very very slow. Made even worse when they did get busy. We had over 3/4 hr wait for our mains and at least 1/2hr for deserts. This spoiled the afternoon somewhat.
I appreciate that meals are cooked to order but basics should be ready )somewhat but I think they must have been short staffed in the kitchen. I ordered the lamb which was lovely but the portion was very small. I did mention this to the staff and they brought me another 2 slices which again were small.( I Have seen children's portions bigger.)
It won't out us off trying here again.
We went several months ago calling on spec and the Neal and service was really good .
I think this was just a blip.

WE HAD EATEN AT THE DORE MORE INN RECENTLY AND HAD A GOOD MEAL. WE THEREFORE BOOKED AGAIN TO TAKE SOME FRIENDS TO WHOM WE OWED A FAVOUR.WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MEAL AND ARE UNLIKELY TO RETUERN.
WE HAD TO WAIT A CONSIDERABLE TIME FOR THE FOOD FOR WHICH WE WERE OFFERED A 20% DIDCOUNT. THE STARTER WAS GOOD BUT THE MAIN MEALS WERE FRANKLY QUITE POOR.
THE CHICKEN DISH HAD NO LEMON AND THYME STUFFING AS STATED ON THE MENU AND THE ROAST SLICED POTATOES WERE MERELY A POTATO SLICED INTO FOUR PIECES
THE MOROCAN LAMB WAS VERY FATTY AND TOO TOUGH TO EAT, THE SWEET POTATO WEDGES WERE SIMPLY A WHOLE SWEET POTATO CUT INTO FOUR AND LOOKING VERY UNINTERESTING
THE RIB OF BEEF CURRY WAS OK BUT AGAIN HAD VERY UNINTERESTING WEDGES OF SWEET POTATO
THE SIRLOIN STEAK WAS OK BUT NOT THE BEST OF CUTS.
THE WAITRESS SERVICE WAS VERY PLEASANT, FRIENDLY AND APOLOGETIC.

we reserved a table for two on Sunday 29th May. The meal was very good, the staff were as ever, excellent and we would have no doubts about eating there again.

4 of us dined, the server was very good, the atmosphere quite good but the food was average to poor. Our wives had F&C which was good, but there's not much you can do to F&C. The chicken dish my friend had was average and my sirloin steak was poor, ordered medium it was but it was chewy, full of gristle and not very tasty, additionally the 3 times cooked chips didn't look or taste as expected. Overall for £90 including drinks and dessert, very poor value for money.

Made the mistake of booking on Easter Sunday! Arrived early to a very friendly greeting and were seated immediately. Took a little while to place our order but not too bad, but then the restaurant started to fill up. The staffing was obviously inadequate for the number of customer and the beleaguered wait staff were pouring the drinks for their tables as well! Three of our party ordered starters which took about 20 minutes to arrive. Two of the starters were good but uninspired. The third, a bowl of olives had not been drained and was almost hidden under an overpowering herb coating. The waitress cleared away promptly and then we sat and waited for our mains.. Bearing in mind that one of our party had had no starter and was very hungry, it took a further 45 minutes for the mains to arrive. We all had Sunday roast but the quality was very mixed. Beef was tough and gristly and only two small slices, pork and turkey OK, cauliflower cheese (which we paid extra for) was flavourless, watery and chewy. Roast potatoes and parsnips soggy. One tiny Yorkshire pudding. The [bottomless advertised] very tiny jug of gravy eventually appeared after repeated requests. We decided against dessert and were actually able to pay very promptly.
