We had an absolutely amazing meal as part of north Norfolk restaurant week. The New Zealand Sauvignon wine was also a particular highlight! We couldn't fault our evening with you.

A picturesque countryside pub named after The Wind in the Willows, The Dabbling Duck in the quaint village of Great Massingham represents all that is great about Britain’s pub heritage. A meeting point for the local community, The Dabbling Duck offers a fantastic British menu and real ales favoured by CAMRA Real Ale Campaign.

Winner of the Eastern Daily Press’ Best Pub Food Award in 2012, The Dabbling Duck menu offers immaculately presented rustic British cuisine. Dishes include beer-battered hake with thrice-cooked beef dripping chips, and homemade hogget sausages, served with smoked mash and broad beans. Gourmet burgers include the Cromer crab burger, with rapeseed mayonnaise, and the steak burger, with bacon jam and cheddar cheese.

The quirky dining room at The Dabbling Duck comes complete with walls full of library books, stripped floorboards and sash windows that create a cosy ambience. Reclaimed dining tables and mis-matched chairs complete the space.

A cool and casual countryside pub, The Dabbling Duck in King’s Lynn sits 24 minutes’ drive from Ledbury train station.

Lovely setting, good service. Have eaten here before and the food has been good but we were disappointed by it yesterday. Won't be deterred from going back though.

I have mixed feelings about the food wifes main and desert was to her hopes and expectations mine and my fathers for the mains left some to desire, we both ordered steak one med one rare when served they where mixed up and we only found out once we had eaten a good part of the dish. When paying I spoke the the person taking payment he said sorry but it didn't really feel it was meant, the girl serving was more apologetic and said the kitchen couldn't tell her which was which.
So for the start of our holiday not good eespecially as less than 2 miles from where are staying.

Overall a very good experience. Slight delay at being greeted on arrival. Excellent table for group of 4. All enjoyed meals however 2 had the steak off the specials board. One asked for very well done and steak was still rare. Considering they were specials both steaks were rather stringy. Service very friendly and attentive. Relaxing decor and impressive location.

We had a very long wait for our main course. Realised why when it arrived. The crab was only just thawed out so it had obviously taken some time.

This inn is situated overlooking the village green and pond with a number of tables situated out front to take advantage.
Inside the bar and restaurant occupy a number of rooms that lead from one to another. The tables and solid wood and have plenty of space. The walls have been replastered with at least one feature wall where it has been stripped back to the stone. Overall feel is that of a welcoming pub.
Service was good and attentive during the meal though there was a slight delay to get the bill and pay.
We were dining as part of the North Norfolk Restaurant Week event and opted for the special event menu of three courses. The food was really good with unusual items well cooked and very tasty. My wife had pidgeon breast for starters and I had the Thai fishcake. For mains, we had cod and home made chips and chicken respectively. For dessert we both had the chocolate parfait.
I had a real ale to start which was well kept and then a glass of one of the "house" white wines which was fine.
A 40 minute drive but we will definitely come back again in the future. Recommended
Starters are around £6-£7, mains around £13 and desserts £6 on the main menu - specials were also available.

A super pub on an idyllic village green, very friendly and efficient staff, great food and atmosphere. Consistently wonderful experience each time! Larger rooms exist towards the back, cosy little side rooms, library and great views towards the green on the front.
