We've eaten twice in the restaurant now, both times were excellent, unable to fault the food, it was delicious. Sunday roast was brilliant, chicken so moist, liver and bacon yesterday, no faults at all, fish and chips excellent? Staff were very friendly and obliging, nothing too much trouble.

With crackling log fires, exposed Tudor oak beams and squeaky floors, The Crown Framlingham is a pub filled with history and rural charm. Wholesome gourmet pub recipes are served alongside world beers, with a tranquil al fresco area perfect for relaxed drinking and dining.

Seasonal British dishes are found on the Crown Framlingham menu, beautifully presented and with unique touches. To start, there is ham hock and pea shoot terrine with croute and wholegrain remoulade, while for mains there are regional flavours such as the locally made Bloody Mary sausages with spiced bean, garlic mash and crisp pancetta. Fresh seafood delicacies are seen in dishes like pan-fried cod with local asparagus, seafood bisque and crab beignets, and there are vegetarian delicacies like fresh mint risotto with feta, roasted courgette and basil crisps.

Local flavours continue on the dessert menu at The Crown in Suffolk, such as the homemade apple crumble with a hint of cinnamon served with homemade rhubarb ice cream, as well as the locally produced ice cream selection. The Crown Framingham wine list is extensive, with bottles from all across the globe, and there is also a selection of international beers.

Filled with traditional charm, and surrounded by historic local sights such as the 11th-century Framlingham Castle, The Crown is a 13-minute drive from Wickham Market Rail Station.

Unfortunately yesterday on our third visit this week, we waited for about an hour for our food, the staff has always been so friendly but one particular older waitress had left her smile at home. We were disappointed although my fish and chips were delicious, my friends chicken dish lacked potatoes there were only 3 halve of potato, a shame as she loves her potatoes. We would return.

Having worked in the market town of Framlingham for several years I thought it about time i sampled the local hotel. It's a comfortable place to eat and drink with very friendly staff and management. My Sunday roast was quite delicious and I will be going back. The rest of our table had no complaints either.
The hotel itself though is looking very tired and in need of some TLC. The ladies toilets whilst clean and tidy were very worn with all walls needing either retiling or repainting along with doors and frames needing replacement.
If you can look past the tiredness just sit back, enjoy the log fires and sample what's on offer. I've given 3 stars purely for the lacklustre decor, service along with food and drink were worth more. The food is very day to day, roasts (on a Sunday), burger, fish and chips etc but what we had whilst not like my home cooked nevertheless, was very good.

Very disappointed with the best Sunday roast. For £15.75 one would expect more than 2 small slices of meat and a few potatos.

Food was excellent. My friend had the chocolate tart for dessert and rated it as amongst the best he'd had. Very friendly place. Will definitely revisit- soon!

Lovely atmosphere. We felt very welcome, returning later in day for cuppa in very comfortable surroundings. Attentive and helpful servers. Food OK. I had trendy version of mushy peas which was gritty, lukewarm and half-cooked. Otherwise chips and fish fine. Aubergine dip looked pretty but insubstantial. Desserts also OK. My cheesecake surprise really was surprising as it wasn't a cheesecake, more a mousse on biscuit crumbs . Ice cream nice. We had general feeling as customers over 50 years plus that food standards have been higher. But the price was right!

The choice of the Valentine menu was very good, and I very much enjoyed the sweet pepper stuffed with goats cheese and wild mushroom risotto. The two girls who served us were a little scatty, one saying 'are you ready for us to take your order?' we said 'yes' and she went away not to return, a second waitress arrived said the same thing, but did that time return to take our order. We did feel that water was an after thought and needed to be requested. However we have been to the Crown on many occasions and due to the location, and the general atmosphere, the food and the very helpful nature of most of the staff we had an enjoyable meal and will return again.
