The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly, for a pre-concert dinner. I also know this establishment as a nice pub for having a beer, etc.

With crackling log fires, exposed Tudor oak beams and squeaky floors, The Crown Framlingham is a pub filled with history and rural charm. Wholesome gourmet pub recipes are served alongside world beers, with a tranquil al fresco area perfect for relaxed drinking and dining.

Seasonal British dishes are found on the Crown Framlingham menu, beautifully presented and with unique touches. To start, there is ham hock and pea shoot terrine with croute and wholegrain remoulade, while for mains there are regional flavours such as the locally made Bloody Mary sausages with spiced bean, garlic mash and crisp pancetta. Fresh seafood delicacies are seen in dishes like pan-fried cod with local asparagus, seafood bisque and crab beignets, and there are vegetarian delicacies like fresh mint risotto with feta, roasted courgette and basil crisps.

Local flavours continue on the dessert menu at The Crown in Suffolk, such as the homemade apple crumble with a hint of cinnamon served with homemade rhubarb ice cream, as well as the locally produced ice cream selection. The Crown Framingham wine list is extensive, with bottles from all across the globe, and there is also a selection of international beers.

Filled with traditional charm, and surrounded by historic local sights such as the 11th-century Framlingham Castle, The Crown is a 13-minute drive from Wickham Market Rail Station.

The starters were poor. There were only 3 choices, and one was off (soup). One of our party found the game rilletes tough (another found it OK). The goats' cheese mousse was good but the salady things with it were really just a few odds and ends scattered around artistically. Not enough to offset the creamy mousse. I think the chef has been watching too much Masterchef!
The fish and chips was OK, but you can get better in plenty of other places. One of our party found the belly pork good. More choices would have been welcome.
    We didn't have dessert.

I am very sorry to have to say my breakfast was stone cold. Very disappointed as I have enjoyed meals here before. I was offered the opportunity of cancelling the charge but I CHOSE NOT TO MAKE TOO MUCH of a fuss, perhaps this was the wrong decision.. It was a nice sunny day but cold and I had to ask "are you going to light the fire" it subsequently was.

Poor service, overpriced average food. Horrific service with swearing being heard constantly from the kitchen. Very upsetting and unpleasant experience.

We both had Lowestoft fish with traditional chips. We have been to the top fish and chip shop in Bridlington and these we're equally to them .
Bake well tart for desert was very good could have done with a bit more tart

As usual great atmosphere, slightly limited menu. Particularly if you visit fairly often.

the food was good - though a small main portion. we all thought the chicken which was placed on only half the plate was way too small. (hence there being half the plate free! the service was very poor too and some of the staff not the friendliest!

Food standard very good--spoiled by slow/poor service during evening meal but redeemed by excellent breakfast staff
