Lovely dog friendly pub. We had lunch, and my fish and chips was very good as was my husbands blade steak. The sticky toffee pudding and treacle tart were let down by not enough custard/ cream

The Crown in Hartest is a charming country pub pairing a seasonal food menu with real ales and an impressive wine list. With an open fire place and exposed brick walls, the interior is rustic and homely, whilst the large beer garden offers al fresco dining and a play area for the kids.

The Crown pub menu is a blend of classic dishes and international flavours. Try the Gressingham duck breast with butter beans, charred lettuce and rhubarb, curried chickpea burger with pineapple chutney, or seabass fillet with sprouting broccoli tart. The kids aren’t left out with a dedicated menu, whilst grazing boards and bar snacks are on hand for a lighter bite.

Home to a hearty Sunday roast, The Crown Bury St Edmunds also host regular live music and events, placing it firmly at the heart of the community. Committed to local produce, the pub even adds its own beer to the impressive drinks selection.

The Crown in Suffolk sits on the edge of the village green. Bury St Edmunds is a 15-minute drive away.

Had almost a perfect meal here, lost one star as my partner was not impressed by the potato cake but the rest of us had a great meal, good unusual choices for vegetarians

The pub is lovely and that we can take our dog was perfect, but I found the roast potatoes very earthy and the veggie options where quite limited on sundays

Lovely. I wish you had fish and chips on the menu on Saturday evening also the red mullet starter would make a good main

Delightful as always. A top eatery very close to home and located in a beautiful setting with a popular kiddies play park, great food and service and a no fuss approach to relaxed dining.

Eaten here a number of times now and food and staff are always great
This particular visit was special occasion because we were celebrating a relations significant birthday
Placed a 7.30pm booking online a week in advance for 5 people, arrived at 7pm but did not get menu's until 7.45pm, no big deal.
Placed our orders then was informed they run out of some of the meals chosen, again no big deal.
Reselected and then told again our new selection was unavailable, this was not so good.
I have to say our eventual selected meals that arrived were great and the staff did apologise for the inconvenience, the bill was also adjusted without asking which was great customer service.
I will be going back but the Crown need to review how there menu is managed as running out of meals on an early booking is really not acceptable..
