The Crown in Hartest is a charming country pub pairing a seasonal food menu with real ales and an impressive wine list. With an open fire place and exposed brick walls, the interior is rustic and homely, whilst the large beer garden offers al fresco dining and a play area for the kids.

The Crown pub menu is a blend of classic dishes and international flavours. Try the Gressingham duck breast with butter beans, charred lettuce and rhubarb, curried chickpea burger with pineapple chutney, or seabass fillet with sprouting broccoli tart. The kids aren’t left out with a dedicated menu, whilst grazing boards and bar snacks are on hand for a lighter bite.

Home to a hearty Sunday roast, The Crown Bury St Edmunds also host regular live music and events, placing it firmly at the heart of the community. Committed to local produce, the pub even adds its own beer to the impressive drinks selection.

The Crown in Suffolk sits on the edge of the village green. Bury St Edmunds is a 15-minute drive away.

I had a lovely 40th Birthday meal here. The food is very innovative and great value. Wonderful Night!

Enjoyable lunch of fish and chips with delicious mushy peas and samphire as an extra! Lovely touches such as home made tartare sauce. Raspberry torte was good for pudding but coconut creme brulee didn't have the remotest flavour of coconut. More like a n ordinary egg custard. - we did tell the waitress and I hope the chef takes our comment on board Lovely staff who are very pleasant and attentive!

Lovely warm atmosphere and dog friendly restaurant. Great service, free house so good beers on tap always and roast dinners to die for. Also free wifi available for teenagers that would otherwise die.

Staff were great. Especially the girl with dark hair and always smiling. Helpful and knowledgeable. Food was tasty and they went over and above to help me celebrate my boyfriends promotion.

My wife and I have done many pub walks and have graded the pubs out of 10 for the following:
    1. Food
    2. Service
    3. Ambience
    4. Value for money
The Crown in Harvest is the first pub we have visited which scored 10/10 on all 4 categories.
    - the best pie I have ever tasted
    - lovely, friendly barmaid and waitress
    - a great mix of old world and modern decor, spotlessly clean
    - Wednesday special: pie (with veg., mash, and gorgeous gravy) and pint for £10

Enjoyable meal, service a bit slow and not over attentive. Food good, lamb shank and cod fillet tasty and good portion size. Wine by the glass expensive but beer good and reasonable price. Overall good experience
