The Crown in Hartest is a charming country pub pairing a seasonal food menu with real ales and an impressive wine list. With an open fire place and exposed brick walls, the interior is rustic and homely, whilst the large beer garden offers al fresco dining and a play area for the kids.

The Crown pub menu is a blend of classic dishes and international flavours. Try the Gressingham duck breast with butter beans, charred lettuce and rhubarb, curried chickpea burger with pineapple chutney, or seabass fillet with sprouting broccoli tart. The kids aren’t left out with a dedicated menu, whilst grazing boards and bar snacks are on hand for a lighter bite.

Home to a hearty Sunday roast, The Crown Bury St Edmunds also host regular live music and events, placing it firmly at the heart of the community. Committed to local produce, the pub even adds its own beer to the impressive drinks selection.

The Crown in Suffolk sits on the edge of the village green. Bury St Edmunds is a 15-minute drive away.

We had the worst table which was by the door and freezing. The food was ok, the service really lacked refinement to the point that the waitresses seemed more worried about admin than looking around to attend to their diners - disappointed on the whole which is a shame as this place could be amazing.

We had a fantastic and relaxing meal at The Crown in New Years Day. The food was lovely and the service exceptional. We had 2 young children who were made to feel welcome. We will definately be going back.

We enjoyed a lovely meal. My husband loved his roast beef and he especially liked the gravy. They catered very well for my dietary problem as I am gluten intolerant.
The waitress was very friendly and helpful .we like the ambience .a nice experience.

We had a lovely evening at the Crown the atmosphere was warm, the staff welcoming and attentive. A good varied menu with a selection of local wines and their own brewed beers. Food was delicious, portions could be a little bigger but then you would not have room for the desert.
All in all a very good night was had by our small party.

The pub is lovely, the ambience is good, the food lovely but spoilt by rather unfriendly reception by the barman, the service was slow and a bit disorganised.
