Making lunch reservations was great advice. We arrived a it early and were seated at a great table overlooking the first floor.
    Definitely a businessman's lunch destination.

Went for lunch with my son and chose the counting house on the grounds that it was a Fuller's pub in an interesting building. It was worth booking as it was pretty business. Good burger and steak. Excellent pint of London Pride. Friendly waiting staff.

Two of my colleagues arrived before me and said we had a table booked for 1pm in the name of Joe Shinners. The manager dismissed this without checking his sheet and said there was no reservation in that name. Thankfully when I arrived with the printed confirmation another member of staff apologised. Unfortunately no tables were available and we were told that a table would arrive shortly. As we waited by the bar the manager looked very sheepish and refused to make eye contact with us. I must say that the other staff were very friendly and apologetic. We were given some seats after around 15 minutes and the food and service was great. It was such a shame the manager was so rude. These mistakes can happen but the way he dealt with it was appalling especially given his position.

It was good. We had an extra friend joining us and they accommodate that immediately. Good British Christmas food in a beautiful building.
