we all enjoyed our meals .all 4 of us agreed that all 3 courses were excellent .the service was also good .we all had the offer of 3 courses for £26 excellent value . I had been impressed when I received a call confirming 2 hours before our booking but upon arrival discovered the restaurant had a private function and that we were sat in the bar area .the bar quickly became very busy and noisey .eventualy things quietened down .surely we could have been advised that the restaurant was out of bounds and so given a chance to change our plans.in the end we enjoyed the night and food but I felt we should have been informed .

We have dined here on many occasions over the years. It's very popular and quite lively. The food though has not lived up to expectations on the last three visits. The menu is a little tired and I think it's ready for a refresh and re invention. It's not that the food is bad but it's just ok. We had the sticky platter starter, the duck was lovely but the flat breads and chicken skewers were pretty awful. I had southern fried chicken for main, which was supposed to be stuffed, it took me a longtime to find the stuffing.... sweet potatoe fries were very greasy. My husband had the crab and prawn linguini, pretty tasteless, the chorizo had been fried on one side and the seafood looked like it had been tipped in from a bag of frozen. He tried to improve it by asking for Parmesan, by the time it came he had finished. He had this dish last week at a restaurant in Birmingham city centre and it was excellent. Overall not an awful experience but not a great one.

    We love this place.

Great staff, wonderful food in an atmospheric environment.
The menu is varied and not your usual pub grub although some favourites are there; e.g. fish and chips (well worth ordering).

This was our 5th visit and we will be back again soon ??

Staff and service ok but meal not that good and vegetables consisted of tasteless shredded cabbage and baton carrots with black bird on. Not good value for money.
