In the Good Pub Guide's Top 10 Pubs in the Country, The Cock Hemingford Grey is a wonderfully inviting spot with crackling fires and rustic furnishings, beside the Great Ouse river. A great selection of British and European recipes are served, along with dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free menus, and local beers.

Only the best seasonal ingredients go into The Cock Hemingford Grey menu, locally sourced where possible. Premium starters include venison carpaccio with baby beetroot, blueberry purée and parmesan, and the vegetarian pea and broad bean risotto. Classic British flavours feature for mains, such as succulent roast pork belly with crackling, apple sauce and gravy, and the signature homemade sausage selections, served with horseradish and mustard mash and your choice of sauces. Sunday roasts are also served, with a range of succulent meats.

From the bar, there is a huge whisky selection, as well as a range of beers and ales from local breweries, and wines from the French Languedoc-Roussillon region. Puddings at The Cock Hemingford Grey Huntingdon include Pimm’s and raspberry crème brûlée with orange and vanilla shortbread, and a great British cheeseboard.

Showcasing the very best in local produce and British dining, The Cock Hemingford Grey is 12 minutes' drive from Huntingdon Rail Station.

Absolutely love it here. I had the best birthday meal. The staff and atmosphere are always exceptional.

As Always great food. I felt the knowledge of some of the waiters was not as good as previous visits.

Nice atmosphere although sound does seem to carry. The Pork Crackling starter was excellent. Putting Hake with Thai rice and spices sounded odd, but tasted really great. And Dripping Mash :-)

A bit mixed. Beer and wine good and the steak. The knuckle was not as hot as it should have been and what was odd were the snails. Came with a black tapenade type dressing. Apparently "mud" but had ground nut shell or similar in it so the texture was not enjoyable or correct with the snails.

Best sausage and mash I have ever had. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Pork dish too, not to mention the yummy dessert. The whole dining experience at The Cock was amazing from the service to the outstanding quality of the food. It had a lovely cozy atmosphere, just what we were looking for on a cold winters day.

This was our first time to the Cock. The staff are lovely, attentive, without being intrusive, willing to chat, only if you want to. They have good knowledge of what they are selling. The whole ambience of the Cock is really good. There is a buzz about it but the acoustics are such that the noise level is not bothersome it just means you do not feel people can hear you. Of course most importantly the food is very good. Not a huge choice, and that is always a good sign of fresh product. Nice wine selection, but I would rather read more about the wine than the fact they have met the vineyard owner!
Really nice experience will definitely go again. Though limits on table times are always a bit annoying, I suppose you can retreat to the bar.

Lovely as always. The staff were fantastic - polite, helpful (couldn't have asked for better service). The sticky toffee pudding is amazing and i order it every time we go.
