In the Good Pub Guide's Top 10 Pubs in the Country, The Cock Hemingford Grey is a wonderfully inviting spot with crackling fires and rustic furnishings, beside the Great Ouse river. A great selection of British and European recipes are served, along with dedicated gluten-free and dairy-free menus, and local beers.

Only the best seasonal ingredients go into The Cock Hemingford Grey menu, locally sourced where possible. Premium starters include venison carpaccio with baby beetroot, blueberry purée and parmesan, and the vegetarian pea and broad bean risotto. Classic British flavours feature for mains, such as succulent roast pork belly with crackling, apple sauce and gravy, and the signature homemade sausage selections, served with horseradish and mustard mash and your choice of sauces. Sunday roasts are also served, with a range of succulent meats.

From the bar, there is a huge whisky selection, as well as a range of beers and ales from local breweries, and wines from the French Languedoc-Roussillon region. Puddings at The Cock Hemingford Grey Huntingdon include Pimm’s and raspberry crème brûlée with orange and vanilla shortbread, and a great British cheeseboard.

Showcasing the very best in local produce and British dining, The Cock Hemingford Grey is 12 minutes' drive from Huntingdon Rail Station.

Seafood risotto was on the dry side & very few King prawns & clams, needed more flavour.
Side of mushrooms & spinach was nice but the smallest side dish ever.
Overall a pleasant experience & staff helpful, but lunch was too expensive given the above comments. Would not rush back.

    The food is superb.
    Waiting staff very attentive.
Only negative was that the toilet/cloakroom area was very cold.
The Cock is quite a way from home bit well worth the trip.

As always the food, service and general ambience were excellent. Knowledgeable serving staff and an extensive gluten free menu made this an evening to savour. I have been going to The Cock for many years and they have continued to excel.

as always, a delightful experience, with attentive but non intrusive staff. sea bass dish very ingeniously conceived but a fraction on the dry side for my taste. Two others who had the dish were happy.

A really good lunch with friends. We wanted somewhere that was auquidistant from the different places in which we live and The Cock fitted this requirement very well. We found ourselves delighted that we had chosen it - nice environment, good food, good service and good value.
