Sophisticated and historic surroundings. Low key and discrete service. Sublime food.

The atmosphere, decor and the service was excellent.
However I did enquire before booking regarding halal options and when we got there it was very limited in what we could eat. I would say overall there were 3 dishes I could have had. There were plenty of fish and vegetarian options but unfortunately I don't eat fish and not a great lover of pure vegetarian food.
It was my birthday celebration and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. If there were more halal options available I would definitely visit again pretty soon.
The staff were so lovely and helpful and cannot fault them in any way whatsoever.

Wow! What an evening. Truly sublime dishes: a delight to look at before relishing.
Service was good too.Only 2 downfalls: the entrance was rather crowded with people waiting for the cloakroom. Difficult to get into the dining room. Also, the cloakroom assistant couldn't say my name properly.
Worst was towards the end of the evening- having a leisurely chat with an old friend, to celebrate our special birthday year, not seen her in a few years. A waiter asked if we could leave the table in 5 minutes and continue at the bar, as they were very busy. Was not impressed at this abrupt intrusion. They did however, give us a drink at the lovely relaxing bar area. Would have been better id this was explicit when I had booed so not as disruptive.
On a positive note, the lovely Polish waitress who was serving us, mainly, discovered it was our birthday and brought along a delicious complimentary desert, with a lit candle and 'Happy Birthday', inscribed in chocolate. Thank you for being so thoughtful and spontaneous and helping make the evening special.!!!

Will be returning - to sample the menu further.Mmmm.

Wonderful food and service. One of our servers was a Polish lady, who was lovely. We had the taster menu with wine, which was amazing. The location is slightly lonely. We had to wonder a bit to find a pub to go for a drink beforehand, 2 we walked past were closed! But it was so great that we forgot about this quite quickly.

Wonderful! The food was sensational, service exceptional, and with the Bookatable deal, I thought it was outstanding value. I recommend for all foodies!

We enjoyed the £38 Star Deal, 3 courses, champagne cocktail and recipes book thrown in for good measure. Ambience superb, food excellent, service could not be faulted. A most enjoyable dining experience.

Nice meal with a good choice for all three courses - sides we found were rather expensive £7.50 for a small basket of Indian breads, disappointed that the included cocktail in the £38 deal we were not given a choice.
