Gaining its name from the numerous chimneys atop its roof, The Chimneys in Hooton offers trusted British pub food, views on the spectacular Wirral Peninsula, an al fresco garden and welcoming open fires connected to the chimneys. The high ceilings also add a spacious and grand feeling to The Chimneys.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Chimneys menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Chimneys ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Chimneys is just 6 minutes’ drive from Ellesmere Port, or 2 minutes from Hooton Train Station.

A really nice meal, I had ham hock nicely presented. There was 5 dining and everyone enjoyed their meal.

The place is lovely, there was a roaring log fire and the smell of woodsmoke was in the air. The staff were friendly and polite. Attentative without being a nuisance.
The main meals we had were again lovely, stonebaked pizza and proper chips, empty plates all round. Dessert was a bit of a letdown.....Sherry Trifle without the sherry and the sponge was very dry. Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard was again very dry and the last piece was so hard that it had to be left.

Menu - had the roast which was great - however the wait was almost unacceptable

The fish and chips was nice and the pizza but the Special Moroccan Lamb was a bit of a let down. At £15 a time the lamb was full of chewy fat. We did point this out to the waitress but she didn't come back to us about it. My partner came home quite hungry. Wine is good. Chips superb.
