Situated amongst lush gardens and within short walking distance from the beach, The Cambustay boasts traditional British pub cuisine in Broughty Ferry. The eclectic mismatched furnishings hint at the exotic history of the pub, where it thrived due to jute barons in Dundee importing from India.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Cambustay menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Cambustay ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Cambustay is just a 6-minute drive from Broughty Ferry Train Station and 13 minutes from Dundee.

Unfortunately the sirloin steak I oredered was so tough I literally could not chew all of it and my friend's steak she felt had been undercooked.

Roast dinner adult and child was awful. Roast potatoes like stones! Hard and overlooked! Think was reheated. Lacking in gravy also. Hair on table cloth and eyelash on plate. Pudding platter for 2 - chocolate cake rock solid! Couldn't get spoon in it to cut! Waitress had rope type bracket on with long dangle bead which hung down into our platter! When she placed plate down.
Lengthy time to wait on our food also for our table of 8. Very poor standard for such a lovely place!

We arrived for Sunday tea. We had an early booking. Service was quick. Sunday menu had a great choice. Bit of a wait for food to arrive buto the restaurant was really busy.
Food was lovely and portion sizes were big, even the kids portions. Booking online was straight forward. Will definitely be back

We have eaten at the Cambustay many times and the food is usually very good. This time we were a party of four, three of us had the filet of Seabass, which was good, and one of us had sirloin steak, which was mostly fat and inedible. Fortunately they agreed we wouldn't have to pay for the steak, but a nice a nice meal would have been preferable.
