In a striking setting at the end of the famous Royal Mile in Edinburgh, The Café at the Palace of Holyroodhouse is one of the ultimate afternoon tea destinations. Its outdoor terrace in the historic Mews Courtyard gives diners views over Arthur's Seat, and the tea is even served in specially commissioned chinaware.

Every part of the Café at the Palace of Holyroodhouse afternoon tea menu has been carefully crafted to make it a traditional treat. Delicate finger sandwiches are packed with classic fillings, such as smoked salmon and cucumber, while the selection of freshly baked cakes and pastries include Victoria sponge, cream-filled eclairs, and the staple of warm scones with a variety of jams and Devonshire clotted cream.

A great selection of Tea Palace loose leaf teas are served at The Café at the Palace of Holyroodhouse Edinburgh, and diners can also order a range of premium champagnes.

Boasting a stunning location and contemporary terrace, The Café at the Palace of Holyroodhouse is 15 minutes' walk from Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station.

It is by far one of the best experiences I had on my visit. The staff was great. The food was amazing. Everything was set up beautiful. We did the afternoon tea. It was simply an amazing experience.

The service was excellent and our favourite thing was the mulled wine Christmas jam.

We went for afternoon tea. It was lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The service was excellent. Although we did not eat a meal there - we did see what was available and it looked very good. We decided the next time we were in Edinburgh we would return and eat there.

Our afternoon tea - (party of 4, pre booked 2pm) was absolutely superb. We had also pre booked our tickets for the Palace and had come up on the train for the day from York especially to visit the Queens gowns exhibition and Palace itself. Timed with military precision our whole day was perfect. Your staff within the Palace and 'The Café at the Palace' are a credit. We were treated with respect and courtesy and the afternoon tea selection first class. I've been lucky enough to have had afternoon tea at the Ritz twice and yes the ambiance there is amazing but I know where I'll be returning to and recommending - up north! Food wise so much better than the Ritz, perfectly balanced and delicious - thank you! This was my third visit to the Palace itself and look forward to visiting again. A first for my friends who were equally captivated.

Champagne cream tea in historic setting to celebrate a special birthday. Perfect end to our weekend in Edinburgh. Great service - just the right amount of food - dainty sandwiches including roast beef and smoked salmon and a taste of fabulous Scottish tart, mini Victoria sponge, strawberry tart and scones with jam and cream and choice of 4 or5 types of tea.

Following a tour of Holyrood Palace, we had an excellent Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Café at the Palace - the perfect round-off! Food and drink were delicious and the service most attentive. If we ever have a chance to go to Edinburgh again, we shall come back!
