Winner of an AA Rosette for its British gastro pub dishes, The Cadogan Arms offers heated outdoor dining and a cosy, contemporary interior. Ales from the sister microbrewery are served at the well-stocked bar.

The award-winning Cadogan menu mixes trusty British classics and refined signature main courses. Enjoy warming pork and apple pie with smooth mashed potatoes and cider gravy, or herd-crumbed halibut with fennel & potato rosti and pea veloute. Trusty British desserts include spiced pear rice pudding, or chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.

Alongside locally-brewed beers, fine wines and freshly roasted coffee beans from nearby Butterworth & Son, The Cadogan near Bury St Edmunds offers indulgent grazing boards and artisan breakfasts.

    I can't fault The Cadogan Arms, the staff are attentive, the food is very good and the prices are keen. It's a popular place and it's easy to see why.

    We booked on reputation and was not left disappointed. We booked for a works long service award for four colleagues. Excellent food choices and everyone really enjoyed their main meal and followed by desserts. Prices a little more expensive, particularly desserts, than a normal public house but the standard of food was higher too. It certainly didn't leave you feeling hungry. There was enough space around the tables and not packed tightly together, which I liked. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I would certainly recommend this for any occasion.

    Having dined here several times over the past 12 months and been generally most satisfied, especially with the Sunday lunches, we were disappointed with the mid week lunch we had with invited friends. The main courses were poor quality for the price and although the staff were friendly, service was a little slow considering the restaurant was not ful - luckily we were not in a hurry.

    I really care about this small local chain and use it frequently, which is why I thought I would take the time to give this feedback. For the first time, the food was really not great. The main dishes were generally good (although the beef & blue cheese pasty special seemed to have no cheese in it at all) but the side orders were really not. The chips tasted somehow stale and the onion rings were somehow bland and watery. I was there entertaining business guessed and could not quiz them too much about their food, so cannot comment on the other dishes.

    Next time I need to entertain customers I will use the One Bull but I would need to try The Cadogan again on my own before taking guest there.

    Wild boar scotch egg was lovely. Sea bass fillet on pearl barley and chorizo rissotto was superb.
