One of London’s most cherished jazz venues, having hosted stars like Jeff Beck and Charlie Watts, The Bull’s Head is a cosy and quirky British pub in leafy Barnes. A revamped dining room serves up contemporary interpretations of pub classics alongside a wide selection of drinks.

Colourful seared scallops with cauliflower, vinegar and smoked bacon feature on the Bull's Head menu, and precede a whole dressed Devonshire crab and grilled octopus with braised endive and walnut pesto. Hearty chargrilled Long Horn rib-eye steak and beer-battered fish with hand-cut chips are traditional pub favourites, while delectable desserts include chocolate marquise and pear tart tatin.

Awash with colour from luminous yellow bookshelves and vibrant artwork, The Bull’s Head pub in London hosts live musicians daily. Drinks include an impressive selection of cask, craft and bottled beers, as well as an extensive wine list, divided by grape and flavour.

Peeping over the River Thames, The Bull’s Head is just a 5-minute walk from Barnes Bridge Station.

First of all The Bulls Head is a lovely pub/restaurant that has been recently refurbished and is overlooking the river thames....

However I found my latest experience of this establishment to be severely disappointing. What was supposed to be a great evening meal for my family descended into a comedy of errors.
Firstly it took 45 mins for party of guests to be provided with any drinks (in a pub no less!) this was 10 mins after being asked for our order (once I had asked for the order to be taken twice before); the only reason the order was finally filled was because I had to speak to the bar staff myself. The waiting staff insisted the bar staff knew the order which had clearly not been communicated. Food was served after an hour of waiting... even though the dining area was less than half full.

When the dinner finally arrived some one of the dishes had been burnt and had to be returned and two steak dishes were served lukewarm. Subsequently all three dishes were replaced however one of them too another 20+ mins to appear; once everyone else had finished.

When I voiced my dissatisfaction to the Manager and to return the three dishes, he vowed to rectify the situation and to his credit he did manage to make good on the situation. However unfortunately what was supposed to be a special family get together has been severely marred at this point.

As I have previously been a dining customer (when I have found the service to be very good) and patron of The Bulls Head previously; numerous times, I will return there however due to this experience I would have to give serious consideration as to whether I would dine there again.

good and patient service. food quality good. prices v fair. came to bull's head to enjoy jazz music there. this was the main draw. the music was even better than the meal. bar in jazz room a bit understocked. no Guinness?? No Southern Comfort?? No Jack Daniels?? Service was polite however.
