Originally a coaching inn dating back to 1768, The Bull Streatham is now a bright, modern gastropub that supplies pub-classics-meet-fine-dining food in a light, spacious interior and a vast beer garden.

The Bull Streatham’s menu changes seasonally, always producing a gourmet selection, from crispy pork belly and bacon dumplings to lemon sole with chilli and crab butter. Starters include monkfish cheek fritters with cauliflower purée and Oxspring ham.

For a sweet treat, find the likes of lemon and raspberry posset with pistachio shortbread on the dessert menu. For a lighter snack sit at the bright, royal blue bar and munch on a chorizo and pulled pork Scotch egg or braised beef rib croquettes.

Outside, the spectacular beer garden is laden with beach-hut-style booths and wooden tables with vibrantly coloured chairs perfect for relishing in a seasonal cocktail or craft beer. The Bull in South London is a 9-minute walk from Streatham Station.

Had a lovely evening. Always go to this pub for a few beers and their amazing bar snacks. Decided to have dinner there for the first time and LOVED it. The food is extremely good and well worth every penny. The ham hock is incredible as is the pork belly and chicken pie. Didn't have room for pudding but I'm sure they will be as good as the mains were. We'll be back.

The restaurant was busy, with only one waiter on shift - and although he was doing his very best, inevitably this meant that service was slow. Food was fine - not great and the menu really does need to change a bit more often, as it has more or less stayed the same for 6 + months now. The biggest issue is that a huge fight erupted due to the fact that a poor, unfortunate customer was sat directly in front of the door leading to the toilets. As a consequence, he was shoved and shunted around as people tried to get by his chair. It appears that in an attempt to fit in as many covers as possible, they have squeezed in more tables than can be accommodated within the space. Our waiter was left not only to handle the entire restaurant by himself, but he also had to deal with a rather unpleasant altercation that ensued between two groups of customers - with not a Manager in sight. Overall, very poor indeed.

We had a good meal but I wouldn't advise booking through Bookatable - the waiting staff said they don't get passed the info so they had no record of our booking but they did manage to squeeze us in luckily.

The roast dinner did not taste of much and was swimming in watery gravy. The vegetables were ok but the potatoes tasted as though they were the form the day before. The meat was cooked fine. The Yorkshire pudding was the best part of the meal. I felt we were rushed off our table after eating and that we should have had s better choice of seating when we wanted to stay for a drink rather than the small seats at the bar. It was hard to know whether you are a pub which does food or an actual restaurant.
