Rustic and cosy, The Bugle Horn in Hartwell presents an appetising menu of traditional British cuisine, in a distinctive fossil-infused building. The extensive gardens offer summer seating and hint at The Bugle Horn’s history as a charming farmhouse and wine store.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Bugle Horn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Bugle Horn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Bugle Horn is a mere 8-minute drive from Aylesbury.

Good, food delicious, only drawback was my steak out of three was chewy, otherwise excellent.

Our table was booked for 8.15. We finished our main course about 9.30pm, and were given the desert menu. We were then ignored for an hour, during which time we noticed most of the staff leaving to go home. We gave up hope of a desert and asked for coffee at 10.30pm to be told at 10.50pm there was no milk.

Waiting for the meal was abit of a shame, perhaps placing bread sticks or some olives etc, would stave off the ravenous appetites?? On the other hand, once our roast meals arrived, we were tucking in! I had the Rump of beef was "melt in the mouth", the lamb and roast pork was delicious. Our server, Gabrielle was delightful and very diligent. Many thanks Bugle Horn staff and bravo to the chef!!

Lovely setting, very friendly staff. Had Sunday roast which was tasty but vegetables a bit too al dente for me and our older guest. Dessert was delicious though.

The Pizza had no tomato on it. We were given a reduction.

Always a safe bet to get a good meal, consistently and without any complications. Really enjoy the food, and the staff are all friendly.

Greeted immediately and seated quickly. Served by considerate and attentive waitress throughout. Food very good and option of small dessert plus coffee was very well received. Overall an enjoyable lunch.

Treated my husband to a mid-week meal. We had a great time there! We shared some pork scratchings with gooseberry relish and although we would have liked the relish to be more gooseberriesh (!!!)... The pork scratchings were really well cooked. Crispy and not oily.
The starter of prawns, lobster & avocado was ok... Salad leaves could be fresher...
My main of ham hock with whiskey & marmalade glaze was delicious and the spring onion mash it came with was yummy!!
Hubby enjoyed his fish & chips... Served with his favourite mushy peas!
Both portions were enormous!! No complaints there. Rather have more than less.
With our 20% discount off the total bill... We couldn't have asked for anything more as we had great service from our waitress, Sarah.
Will definitely go back for more!!
